Sofa table behind reclining sofa

I need assistance figuring out a way to hid the ugly back of my reclining sofa. The sofa has a chaise reclining lounge on one end and the other end wall reclines (doesn't go back). This is a sofa that I had just bought in a previous home it is very nice and comfortable...then moved into a new house. It worked good in in my previous home; the majority of the ugly back side was hidden on the wall. Now due to the size of the room, my only choice for placement is in the middle of the room where the backside is exposed. A traditional sofa table will not work due to the reclining chaise (which is the most comfortable and used seat on the sofa). I am a person is generally more concerned with comfort and functionality as opposed looks but like to achieve a good balance.

Any ideas?

I’m certainly no interior decorator but here are some pictures of what I can up with. I do think the blanket helps to make the gap a little less noticeable .

I would reconsider furniture layout. A photo or blueprint of the room would be helpful.

Is it possible to hang a throw, quilt or other fabric piece over the back to hide most of it?

This are low-voltage (12V) wires on that side of the step-down transformer (black box from 110 outlet) and no danger. Your puppy is interested in wood and the leather, not the wires because they are attached to metal, and chewing metal if of little interest. If electrocution is a real concern to you, the only dangerous wiring is from the wall outlet to the transformer, so just convert to battery power (rechargeable) and then it's all 12v. You can buy the batteries on Amazon for about $ 80 and that just changes the power feed to your transformer box. The plug-in outlet is then eliminated. Where puppies go to is the arms and front panels. The leather is soft and chewable, and there is yummy foam underneath it as well as wood. tognaw into. A chewing puppy can destroy your leather sofa in 2 hours or less. Having raised a lot of dogs, the real key is to control the behavior. Crate training a puppy is the only way to go, and they are in their crate unless out with you and supervised. With four recliners why would you need an ottoman since those are generally used when people want to put their feet up and so no need with four recliners in the mix. With sectionals and recliners I would personally get some kind of nesting or multiple table configuration so the individual tables can be easily moved where someone wants to use them and then put back together. Having recently purchase a coffee table there are a number of sources that have tables in every imaginable style, shape, material, color and at every price level. Since you haven't provided information on style or size or budget, any recommendations would need someone with a crystal ball.

How about a bench? Or a short sofa table that only goes on the end of the sofa that does not recline, then put a basket at the end of the sofa table (behind the reclining part of your sofa) to complete the items. Maybe a throw over the reclining sofa back.

If you decide to address the sofa, the Stickley 400 Series has recliners inside the sofa where the back of the furniture doesn't move.

Hi, I'm not the original poster but I came here with the same issue, lol. I may go with a lower short table for part of the couch and a plant or something else to balance for the rest, like another suggested. I could do my long credenza behind it but I have to have about 8" of space between back of couch and back of sofa...deciding if it looks weird or not at the moment.
