Comments (1)I don't think there's any expiration date so to speak. As long as you can keep it dry it should be good more or less indefinitely. Once it gets wet, though, it'll probably clump up and you'd need to break it up somehow in order to spread it....See MoreA Caution......Sta-Bil shelf life
Comments (17)Marineguy: Diesel fuel (#2 Fuel oil) and the genre (including the range of JPs) are "light oils" and as such do not break down or "destabilize" as quickly as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC). The temperature of the storage vessel, whether the storage vessel has freedom of exchange with outside atmoshere (simple venting), or if the vessel has controlled head pressure (non vented) has much to do with the "shelf life" of these fuels. I would suppose that if the proper storage method were employed, light fuel oils could remain viable for decades on end. But then questions like, "Why store this stuff when we can just make some more?" might arise. As an active member of USMC (Thank you Sir!) you might be able to put out some "feelers" about long term storage of fuels as addressed by our U.S. military. I have heard that our military has (or did have) ships loaded with all types of gear, equipment and vehicles docked at Diego Garcia in "very long term storage" conditions. I don't know if fuel for the vehicles is/was stored as well. You might be able to find out something about "fuel storage" if you can throw some questions in that direction. Just a rambling series of thoughts....See MoreShelf life of a Jalepeno?
Comments (8)Only a week or less left out. You can freeze any pepper but they get mushy, but you can use them in soups. You should leave them on plant till you need them. It depends how you want to use them. You could pick then just put in a jar in fridge with one part vinegar 2 parts water; they'll last months, but they will be pickled, and you may not be able to use them in cooking. Or you could dry them, but because the skin is so thick, they may mold leaving out unless you split them in half to dry. Or dehydrate them with a dehydrator....See MoreLiquor shelf life??
Comments (3)There is a shelf life on alcohol, but it varies with type alcohol and amount in the bottle. Alcohol evaporates over time, (in the liquor business this is called the Angel's Share, cute huh?). So an unopened bottle has a higher proof than an opened one; and a half full bottle is higher in proof than an almost empty one.If you've got bottles with very little in them and have stored them for many years they're a toss. Open bottles of cream based liquors, ie.Baliey's Irish Cream, can coddle with heat, high proof alcohols and acids. So check before you drink and if it hasn't been used in about 2 years toss. Any bottle that has real fruit in it, ie. the pear in the brandy bottle etc. ,should be checked if the fruit isn't completly submerged in the alcohol toss it it's rotten. Sugary liquors can crystalize out the sugars, so wipe off the lips of the bottles after pouring, and nasties won't grow there in you cabinet. Other than that why keep stuff that you don't drink, toss them of give them away, and use the space for something else. Hope this helps....See Morebossyvossy
