Might be a Warneckii but there are certainly varieties not pictured at this link, and one pic of each is hardly sufficient for ID. I'd lean toward one of the D. deremensis but also compare your plant to D. sanderiana. When it gets taller and has more of a trunk, you can be more certain of ID if you can't decide for now. If the light has been too low, that could cause the variegation to be more slim and/or inconspicuous than normal for any type of Drac.

Very strange but there might be something to a rename thing. Trophytaker series has Jen Melon as Jen Melon. Oakes does not list their own Jen Melon but list Star Struck and is listed as Star Struck in the All American series. Why market one with one name in one series and then rename it in another series makes no sense to me, but it becoming to look like Jen Melon and Star Struck are one and the same. Whatever it is, it's a beauty. I have a feeling the Starstruck in my garden is Jen Melon aka Star Struck. One would think the industry could market a daylily under one name especialy if the reason for the name change is 'more marketable name' but then continue to market it under two names. Tanya, enjoy your daylily as I enjoy mine, it's a beauty and worthy of awards no matter what the industry decides to call it ;) Rhonda

Seems like you may have gotten the only one. Of course, the bulb that came out of the bag marked Kahlua, while it looks similar, isn't what you have. Even the current bulb, that was labeled H004 doesn't seem to be Kahlua either. My bulb is too pink, to my eye. Guess we may not figure this out. K

Well, I do grow Haworthias now, Imontestella- keep up, man ;-). My experimentation with gritty mixes was about 2 years ago. Too bad you weren't there as the voice of reason then, Imontestello. I had planned to try just a few plants, but others on the site didnt think caution necessary, so I jumped in with both feet. More recently, I advised someone else to experiment with just a couple of plants first, and Al jumped all over me about it- simply because I warned the person of some of the downsides of gritty mix. It's an insanely contentious subject on this forum. It is true that I'm very new to growing Haworthia- like new in the last week, but I've been growing plants for 3-1/2 decades; I read, and my thumbs are very green. I had not read that Haworthias lose their roots occasionally. Why is this? That sounds like a reaction to some environmental stressor to me. Where can I read about the phenomenon? I can imagine root loss occurring as a plant uses that stored water during a drought, but it would be evolutionary suicide to lose roots at a time when there is adequate water and the plant needs it. Renee, now that the search feature on this site is working, search the cacti and succulent forum for "failing to thrive in gritty mix" and you will find 2 pages of threads about dehydration in gritty mix and other people having problems just like yours.
