Open Floorplan: living room/dining room OR extra big living room?
Comments (12)I vote for hardwood or engineered wood through the whole space, including the kitchen. Opening the wall would be nice, but I suspect your appliances are arrayed along that wall? I'd paint the wall the same pale color as the living space, and hang a really big mirror on the wall if you can't open it. Then you open the wall visually, and reflect the light from the sliders back into the space. (I know...me and mirrors. They are great manipulators of space, particularly when you commit to making them big!)...See Morecombining family room dining room and family room

Comments (13)I guessed at size of kitchen eating area so verify measurements. A 72x36 table will work but tight to get to slider door. A 60” table in formal dining room will work but I would create a more flexible room with this space. I have some ideas on that. I will post that shortly. The key thing about round tables is get trim but sturdy pedestal that is clear enough for chairs to push in and get chairs that aren’t too wide at front edge. That front chair edge is what limits number of chairs....See MoreDining room..creating space in a small dining room /sitting room area
Comments (3)Without an actual to scale plan of the space there is no way of knowing what will fit and I love the low cabinet with the art BTW. I think you might be able to put a round table in the DR but I need measurements of the spaces I never like fake greenery or flowers and the mirror is really not reflecting anything worth seeing twice...See MoreShake It Up!
