Which walls should I tile?
Comments (22)OMG. I am just finishing a master bath that has a wall hung toilet alcove just like yours, and its tiled in 12 x 24 gray tile! We have a floating vanity too! I will be posting a reveal soon. I opted to tile everywhere except the top section of the toilet wall. I will put some type of artwork there. The guy who did the framing came back yesterday to pick up some things and his mouth fell open when he saw the completed space. He said he thought there would be too much tile, but admitted that it looked wonderful. One reason I elected to do all tile was because it was difficult to determine where to start/stop the tile without having the space look choppy. I wanted a soothing contemporary look, and that's what we got. We love it. We used white trim around the windows and the door....See MoreNeed to renovate a kitchen--which layout should I use?
Comments (34)Sounds as though you have a plan. I would very much consider keeping the hardwood flowing throughout the space, including the kitchen. There's nothing wrong with RTA cabinets. Mine in my kitchen and both my bathrooms are RTA and the quality is excellent. Furniture board boxes, solid wood door and drawer fronts, dovetailed, full extension drawers with underglides, and full overlay. I did as many drawers as possible, an extended depth refrigerator cabinet with panel, and a few other bells and whistles and spent $9700, including install. It's wonderful that you don't have to rush to complete the project. You'll appreciate having the luxury of time to make informed decisions. I hope you'll keep us updated on your progress!...See MoreWhich trim color should I use?
Comments (1)I like the doors and trim as is, with the alabaster. Refreshing to see darker trim. I think you nailed it with alabaster for the walls....See MoreWhich Zellige Tile?
Comments (7)So I have been debating between all these also for the last couple months. For references, I am using Silestone Charcoal Soapstone (Quartz) on the perimeter counters (which will be by the tile) and Caesarstone Statuario Nuvo on the island. I found the Riad Snow Whilte to have too much of a "cool" gray tone to it. Alternatively, I find the Cle Weathered White to have too much of a pink/warm gray undertone. I really liked Cle Sea Salt and Zia Pure White but after I read some bummer reviews on here about Cle, I decidd to go with Zia Pure White. It seems to look the least gray to me and if it does have gray undertones they seem warm ish (warmer than Riad) and subtle. It tough though, I relate, been obsessing. I ordered samples of them all and put them next to each other with the counter color which really helped. I also ordered multiple samples of each....See MoreKathryn Weiss
