Should I do sconces on the mirror? - please check out pic!
Comments (72)Yes, crazyhouse6, the crystal ball sconces come single. These are my final contenders, but leaning (right now) heavily toward the first one. The shade on it is actually glass. I also like the LENGTH (for my space) of the second one and the last two, but the last two are probably too modern. What do you guys vote for? Finding out later today if they can put the sconces on the towers without yanking out the towers and repainting. Here's my two favorite chandys and another inspiration photo so you can see where I'm coming from (if you don't already know!) - simple tile pattern, monochromatic, but romantic finishings:...See MoreShould I do sconces or something else...
Comments (19)Thank you ALL so very much for all your ideas! I thought about a mini chandelier too. The towel ring is going to be moved - I had it there prior to finding the mirror and I agree it is not the right place for it. I am trying to decide on paint color or wallpaper, lighting, etc. so in the interest of not putting more holes in the walls I just left that there until other decisions are made. I am happy to see so many of you like the mirror as I thought it was quite the find to go with the ornate cabinet. But I must admit you all have set me on a different path with the lighting because I was looking at ornate and you are right, too much ornate will not do. I will keep you posted and thanks so much for your help. -Pam...See MoreShould I be upset. - Countertop Install.
Comments (25)@Charles Ross Homes - that's not the analogy applicable to this scenario. No one expects that when they purchase services through Lowe's that they're automatically going to get subpar technical service. The guy who does trim work in a million dollar home can screw up a project just as likely as a trim worker in a $300k home. They could go toe to toe in a 'trim off' and the $300K trim worker could do as well or better. Yet because they choose to work through a big box store they're automatically considered a subpar trade? So when somebody goes to Lowe's or Home Depot they should be told, or know, "Your project is going to look like s*** because we only choose subpar, lowest bidders and because of your low budget you shouldn't expect anything of quality." I've worked with Habitat for Humanity and under my tenure, I've built 15 homes. There were times when volunteers thought we could cut corners because it's a Habitat home, the homeowner will never know plus they're paying one third of what this particular house would cost on the market so they really don't need all the 'upgrades'. That was never an option for a $25,000 or $75,000 Habitat home. We meticulously chose our contractors and trades because our families deserve as good of quality as anyone else on the market. We may not have been able to hire the million dollar home trim worker (due to their schedule or cost) but that doesn't mean the trim worker we hired was subpar and we wouldn't accept subpar outcomes because that's all we could afford....See MoreWhen should I install my shower niche glass shelf?
Comments (2)I would install it after tiling, and use shelf clips before grouting or mechanically fastened type brackets to the tile after grout (but this would require holes in the tile/waterproofing)....See MoreButternut
