Cold Hands In The Warm Dirt
Comments (1)Your poems are very folksy george but in need of editing. Thank you for being brave enough to post them here amongst this crowd of lurkers....See MoreCold, Cold, Cold.........
Comments (17)SE Wisconsin: 3 or more inches of snow Friday night and Saturday morning. Sat: Colder. Several accidents on the freeways. North bound US 45 blocked, all lanes. A double bottom truck truck skidded and blocked both lanes. Traffic mess. Sat night: Windy, temp down to 15 F. Sun: High was 20 F. Streets and sidewalks have been cleared. Driving conditions fairly good. Predictions for Monday and Tuesday: Its going to be really cold: single digits overnight for two nights before it begins to moderate. Possibility for light snow on Thursday. WINTER has arrived!...See MoreMouse Invasion! Do Those High Frequency Rodent Repellents Work?
Comments (54)Oh my gosh, Pal, how unbelievable that they would chew through that concrete! It makes me shudder just thinking about it. And those being rats, not mice. Thank goodness you knew what to do. Busy: Yellowjackets are scary, as they can be so aggressive. Oakley, I would have done the exact same thing! Mdln: that can is what we used. I bought it at Home Depot for $8.95, which is expensive. I was glad to get something engineered to work for rodents, though, so I wasn't' arguing the price that day (LOL). But, this stuff is injected into holes via a long, plastic tube. It hardens fairly quickly, which is good for the hole, but makes the tube unusable soon after. So, have a game plan before you start and fill everything quickly. Wet paper towels, a sturdy paper plate and a metal spatula to smooth out the foam worked best for us. I had to use Goof Off to get it off of the spatula, though. Tibbie: I'm kind of concerned, as I pick up our new furkid on Wednesday afternoon, which is just 2 days from now. I need to make sure nothing harmful such as mousetraps, etc. (we don't use poisons) are around for him to get into. P.S. I'll try to post pics of my new boy on Thursday....See MoreWhat kind of stuff do you keep on hand for cold/flu season?
Comments (21)I went to the dr. last week with "something." He thought I had either strep or the flu; however both tests were negative. He diagnosed a virus and upper respitory infection. He highly recommended Allegra-d, Mucinex DM, Coricidin HBP and the nasal spray Neo Synephrine, all of them over the counter. I've used all of them as directed...some 8 hrs and other 4 hrs...and am finally out of bed. Still coughing but not all the time as before. So, currently, that's what's been working for me. Good luck, everyone. It's been difficult to stay well this winter, with allergans so bad and Mother Nature thinking it's already spring. Local schools are closing for a day at a time to disinfect everything after near-epidemic levels of flu and even pink eye....See MoreBunny
