Supper Time on Friday!
Comments (11)Rhizo, it depends on who made it basically. I have had some that was extremely hot and some that was barely warm. But usually you can see the amount of red rubbed on the surface and you can soak it and release some of the pepper off of it. I don't like it really hot. You have to be sure not to season the dish you are adding it to very much till the tasso has been in it a while, tasting is important. The piece in that picture doesn't have a heavy coating or crust of seasonings but some sure does. Like this one. By the way since it's fully smoked you can just cut off slices and eat it, it's good with cheese and crackers....See MoreSupper Time on Friday?
Comments (18)There were several pieces of the salmon I baked left over, too. I'd never thought of salmon chowder until I read caroline's post above, so I googled it. I wonder if I could call it chowder if I left out the corn? I've never been able to eat creamed corn. I made chicken stock last week, and I could use some of the finely diced peppers left from last night. We love cream of potato soup, so maybe I'll try something new tonight. ETA, I found a recipe with carrots. That works!...See MoreSupper Time on Friday!
Comments (13)We still had some ham left over from Sunday dinner. I'd made a yummy soup with some of it a few days ago, so tonight I decided to make ham, cheese, and egg biscuits, and my DD cut up some veggies. I used the rough puff method of mixing the biscuit dough--they came out crispy and layered and really good. I julienned the ham and warmed it in the skillet after I cooked the eggs, mounded it on top of the egg, covered with cheddar cheese, and put them back in the warm oven until the cheese was soft. If you've never made biscuits that way, I recommend it!...See MoreSupper Time on Friday!
Comments (19)A new chicken dish for me. Donna on Cooking forum posted a recipe for Peruvian Chicken with a green sauce a couple of days ago. I have it prepped and ready to put into the oven in about another 45 minutes, green sauce made. I think rice and steamed carrot sticks for sides....See More
