Hi GardenWeb,

Hope you are all enjoying your Gardens

I just have a few more Questions about Japanese Maples

Firstly, when is the right time to stop watering Patio Potted JMs for the Winter Period ?

Are there any Specific Indicators ?

Are there any Suggestions to protecting the the Compost Surface over the Cold Snap or is the Surface ok exposed to Frost & the more severe weather.

During the Dormancy Period do Japanese Maples need any Watering. Will an Occasional Water Misting be Helpful or is this Unnecessary.

On an Earlier Post Gardengal48 mentioned that very young trees & Seedlings are probably best placed in the garage to protect the little fellas from the Winter Elements.Do any Plants left in the Garage for the Dormancy Spell need any water Misting.

I am trying 200 of so JM Seeds in Plant Cells and have used a perlite & Compost Mix of around Equal Ratios.

Are these ok left exposed naturally to the Elements or would a makeshift cover with open sides be a Consideration.

Any Tips at all on Cultivation and general care would be Hugely Appreciated..

Thanks to everyone who replies and offers Helpful advice to my Comments

Happy Gardening..

Regards,Stephen,Cheshire.UK
