Thanks, Rhizo! I love boy choirs. My father boarded at choir school when he was an elementary student; it was St. John the Divine in NYC. He was a boy soprano, and led the cherub choir into the church. They sound like angels.

I've always felt that music could be (and should be) used as a way to turn certain troubled kids around.

I watched it this past week, Rhizo. Very good, and yes, the boys' voices are heavenly. Thanks. I'm always looking for Netflix recommendations since so much there is B and C level, in my humble opinion.

I watched another good one last night...Philomena with Judi Dench. This is based on a true story about a young Irish girl who is 'sent to the nuns' when she becomes pregnant. The girls have their babies, and are forced to work (toil) under poor conditions, only to have their babies sold to rich customers, often from America. Judi portrays the girl when she is elderly and has an opportunity to go to America to search for her lost son.

As usual, Judi is riveting in this film. The range of emotions that move across her face......very remarkable.

Look for it on Netflix.

Yes, I saw that one too, Rhizo. Judy Dench is always just great. She's one of my favorites.

We watched Philomena a couple weeks ago and loved it! I don't think there's anything we've watched with Judi Dench we DIDN'T like. We also watched her recently in Iris where she gets dementia (Netflix). Also loved her in Mrs. Brown, Ladies in Lavender, and so many more. We have both Netflix and a subscription to ACORN on our ROKU. We watch more British and Australian productions than anything else.

I agree that she is an amazing actress, every role is memorable.

We love Judi Dench. The Marigold Hotel is one of our favourite movies. We didn't think The Second Best Marigold Hotel was as good, but sequels seldom are, IMO.

I remember when Philomena was in the theatres but I forgot about it. I'll have to look for it, and the others mentioned.

I'll keep a lookout for The Choir.

It was hard for me to watch Philomena. It's a familiar story of the ongoing and deliberate abuse of powerless young women. The free labor of girls and their babies were money-makers for the Catholics for centuries. (They weren't the only profiteers, but by far the larest.

The 'adoption biz' continues today, now primarily profiting lawyers and judges. A few of the 'agencies' have continued, unreformed. New entrants into the market are doctors who create orphans from gullible women's donated ova to sell the babies.

Nowhere is there consideration of the rights of the innocent adoptees being sold.

Chisue, if you found Philomena difficult to watch, you really won't like The Choir. :-(
