'What To Say When You Talk To Yourself'? - Have You Read It???
Comments (3)Yes, Arum, I read it several years ago... great book... it really gets to the meat of the matter about the internal dialogue we all have with ourselves every day, almost every waking minute when we're not talking with someone else or actively mentally engaged in something else. The simple act of learning to think "I'm a capable person and I can do what I set out to do, etc.," rather than "I'm such a loser and nothing ever goes right for me," and so forth, can have a powerful impact on how successful we are in our daily lives. I probably need to go back and read it again, though, as I've fallen back into some of the old, bad habits. Enjoy the book and try to apply what it says. I highly recommend it. Comments (2)Thanks, Steve. I wasn't sure if a major cane removal was done at the same time as regular pruning. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. April...See Morewhen do climbers bloom?
Comments (11)When it comes to climbers and ramblers, patience is the word. It best to remember...yr1 sleep, yr2 creep, yr3 leap. I have a climber that bloomed in yr 2&3 but really did not mature with lots of blooms until year 4 and the older it gets the more blooms it gets. Just remember to train the climbing roses correctly (zig-zag or pillar the canes) and you will get max blooms. There is a great series of videos on youtube called "Roses are Plants Too" check them out as they are realy good at show how. Comments (17)Well, there is the companionable silence which is quite pleasant, as it means people are comfortable with one another and relaxed. Then there is the, someone just made an unfortunate political/religious/gossipy comment that everyone is trying to ignore, silence. And most horrible, the armed silence that occurs when an undercurrent of hostility runs 'round the table. As for compliments, if people eat up heartily, I am complimented. Particularly once they've devoured a fair number of hors d'ouevres and aren't hungry enough any more to eat anything whether it's good or not (sounds like the situation with the salad-must have been good!) Actually, I get a bit uncomfortable with too many or too effusive compliments. I mean, I know I'm a decent cook, and I just watched you clean your plate and take seconds, I don't want you to feel like you have to gush. Is that weird?...See Morejacqueline9CA
