Woven Roman shades or honey comb duettes with a valence?

Remodel of my kitchen and so we replaced individual windows with a folding window wall. So now I need window coverings. The shades used to fit inside the window casing but because this new set up is a moving window wall that folds upon itself, I need a new application. The adjacent window and all other windows in my house have duette window soft shades by Hunter Douglas. Should I start fresh in the kitchen den and pick Roman shades in a woven wood look mounted to wall above the window tract or go with the soft shades again and also purchase a fabric valence to hide the shade mechanics? We need to be able to raise and lower for sun protection.
