I laugh every time I see the Go Commando commercial. Due to an unfortunate accident I was forced to go commando while traveling one day. It wasn't so bad.

We stream through ROKU, so we watch mostly commercial-free. The few things we do watch with commercials, we get so aggravated because there are sooooooooooo many of them, or we don't have a clue what the commercials are about (electronics or trading).

I happen to like the Arby's guy. I love the clean, full, resonate voice, but not enough to ever make me want to eat there.

I hate the Angie's List commercial with the husband at work "whining" about having to clean gutters. Have you seen whats in theeeeem. And the laaaaadder. Talking like a sissy and drawing out his words. Ugh! D@mn I hate, hate commercials like that. They are making all men look like wussies and all the women look like b!tches. I want to slap that guy and say man up! haha

The new KFC Colonel. He's creepy.

We don't get U.S. commercials, and I haven't seen the KFC one yet.

We both commented that all commercials feature dogs now. We love the pickup truck commercial where the border collie has a broken leg and the farmer puts him in the truck and they round the sheep with the dog barking joyously out the window at them as the truck drives around after them.

I should watch some commercial TV in the evenings to see what they sell to non-Seniors. We have the TV on during breakfast and lunch. I know more than I would like to know about the diseases (and desires) of Old People, whose bodies no longer function adequately.

I haven't seen the cute sheep-herding dog in the truck. I like the ad where a young man's small dog is unable to keep up due to having a cast on one leg -- until the man uses an app to buy a frontal baby carrier *for the dog*.

I am NOT a commercial fan but do love the Budwiser horses or almost anything with an animal...But, for the guy on the phone with his insurance company at 3:00 in the morning is just plain ridiculous as is most TP ads...Thank goodness for the mute and/or remote button.....

Sunnydj, I agree about the insurance ad in its original, soooo often played form, but I think the self-parody with the coneheads is an utter hoot!

The best dog commercial I've seen is the one with the elderly dog's birthday where his man makes a bucket list for him and takes him all around doing all the entries until they end up at the beach watching the sunset. There's another one in the series (I don't know if it's supposed to be the same man and dog because it's rarely shown), where a guy makes a spur of the moment decision to adopt a puppy and you see him learning and adapting to caring for it. It's really cute. Both are more like short films than commercials.

BTW, most ads are also on YouTube if you want to see what people are talking about.

I dislike and find obnoxious the schick commercial of the 3 women trimming their "bushes"....I actually email schick and told them it was tasteless.

I am so sick of some commercials I carry the remote control with me, when I hear it coming it goes to MUTE! We have one here that drives me insane and I will run for the remote every time. Its the Peoples car dealer, Farmer Ron White ( I think) he keeps twerking everything he has and I am sick to death of hearing and seeing. There is no way I would buy one of his cars!

Love the dog driving commercials and the big baby, I would love to hug it....hate the old ladies hitting on a guy that would be the age of their sons or grandsons (car commercial)

The one I can't stand is the Febreze commercial with the stinky room. Seems like a lot of other people don't like it either by the comments on YouTube.

I think the 3 older ladies in a test drive is hilarious.

My fav of the Subaru Golden Retriever dog commercials is the one when the family stops at the gas station and they all go in to the bathroom. That one is hilarious!

I really dislike the Sonic commercials with the 2 guys in the car. The guy in the passenger seat is the most annoying.

Sonic commercials are beyond annoying. And I agree about the Arby's guy being obnoxious ("we have the MEAT"). I will never eat at Arby's because of that.

There are a couple.....United Way and the "school's out" jingle (school has been out and now well under-way).....and Flo in the Progressive Insurance commercials.

Progressive insurance commercials are no longer cute even with Flo. Here they are on all the time. Also, if you watch a movie in the middle of the night there are so many more commercials that a 2 hour movie is 3. I record everything if I can.

I find the Progressive ads, which I've always disliked, to now be downright creepy. What's with the dysfunctional family setting they now show? Do they really believe these ads make people run out and buy Progressive insurance? It is just the opposite for me.

I agree. I don't understand any of them. Yes that's creepy. Buzzing around like a bumble bee, bundle jokes. We must not be the target audience. I'm feeling good about that!!

The commercial that really irritates me is the solution to falling: "Just don't fall!" Yeah right. The solution to dying from cancer? Just don't die from cancer. There's not too many commercials that make me change channels but this is one.

If you remember the name of the company -- which love 'em or hate 'em, most people who see the Flo commercials do -- they've done their job. It's all about name recognition. if you're in the market for a new company, the features they're hawking might be of interest and make you listen more closely, but mostly they just want you to know their name. And if you buy your insurance through an independent agent or broker, you're not the target of insurance ads. :)

I also will hit the mute button if a commercial comes on that I don't want to see again. I also don't like the woman named FLO that has many faces and voices. So I either turn the channel or hit mute.

I understand your great point pillog. Progressive loses for me in a couple of ways. They will put a commercial on twice in one show and maybe back to back. So I remember the name but change the channel. I also have heard ( maybe here) they are not a good insurance company and comparing rates includes services and more which may be thin. Are they doing well financially with this approach I don't know.

I like the Sonic commercials. My favorite was the one with the little girl in the back seat and they're having a tea party with her with her little plastic tea party set. I thought that was so funny.

Oh, and "The General" auto insurance ads. The acting is SO awful in them.

My husband watches a bit of daytime TV on channels which are riddled with ads for local cemeteries, attorneys who are itching to aid you in filing a lawsuit and local drug clinics. Others are the ads advocating drugs which you should try, complete with myriad side effects possible. Luckily I can record the few programs I care for.

Oh, I neglected to add ads for insurance covering 'final expenses'.

I really really miss the ATT kid commercials. I think the theme was, so easy even a child can understand, probably stated better.

I will add my most irritating commercial. The Heinrich mustard one is so annoying. Have to admit after a month the Buick commercial got me, we went and bought one.

Since when? LOL They want everyone they can get to buy insurance from them. Not a target, yeah right!

Name recognition is of course much coveted but hardly the main motivation. Sales and profits are the main goal. Many people to this day remember the Burma Shave name, but they're long gone so name recognition did not do them the desired good.

The other commercial series I dislike so much that I won't even give them name recognition is Roz and the ambulance chaser referral number. It's another channel changer. But what's most interesting about it is they've changed to people who can say the name clearly.

People who buy insurance through an agent, generally get their information from the agent and aren't particularly sensitive to advertising.

Name recognition is a huge motivator for advertising. People are much more likely to purchase a product if they know the name. People reelect the same buffoons because they recognize their names on the ballots. Same principle.

My mute button is always in my hand, but I do love the one with the dirty dog and kids in the tub. The look the mother gives them I think is priceless. I also love the 3 old ladies buying a car from the young man. I mute almost all commercials except for those.

I forgot the brand but I hate a commercial that has crackers falling into soup and the soup explodes upwards, bleghhhhh.

My favourites are this Beneful commercial "Dinner for 2", the dog talking with his mouth full saying "that's what she ate last night, a cheese stick and a cracker"

and the Johnson commercial with the asian baby, my husband and I stop every time it plays, that toothless smile!

That's the Nationwide Insurance commercial discussed up topic. Same basic script also done (hilariously) by Coneheads Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtain (original SNL players doing original SNL skit). The latter was so popular they've done stand alone Coneheads commercials since.

The commercials I find most offensive:

• Anything to do with erectile dysfunction

• Ads for violent or scary movies

• Promos for raunchy network programs

Unfortunately, I've experienced all three of these types of commercials while watching otherwise family-friendly programming or the news. One minute you're enjoying an educational show with the kids, then there's some awful commercial that pops up. It's why we almost never watch live TV anymore.

Sorry. I said "Nationwide". It's State Farm. Slip of the tongue kind of thing, but it was talked about up topic. I never remember the brands from commercials right, especially for things I don't use. My insurance doesn't do a lot of commercials, anyway. :) So what's with the quiz? Do you work for them or something?

However, there is a new one out I hear tell with Jake again. Some of these commercials I have never seen. I recorded DWTS tonight and after running thru commercials and yada yada yada (predictable talk) I did the whole 2 hours in one hour. Winning!!
