Help me decide what liner/moulding to use for my backsplash
Comments (7)Thanks Bill for chiming in.I agree with you about the frame. Something in my gut was telling me it's just not right. I will go back to the tile store today and check out the options in between the two. Then I'll need your advice about grout! Marcy- thanks for the compliment, we are really loving it too! Eastbaymom- I appreciate your comment! The woman at the tile store thought I needed a little something bigger like the frame too. Such tough decisions. Thanks!...See MoreDo I Need BackSplash? I'll gladly let you snatch that paint brush out of my hand. ha ha. But at the same time if a little tiling will tie up the project, then I'm game. jodi_socal: I'm a little disappointed when you said fire and ice won't work. I just LOVE that F&I BS. But then agin, I think I know all along it's a little too much for my kitchen. Caryscott & petra: Thanks for the picture petra, it says a thousand words. Is spectralight glass tiles? Prices are pretty reasonable. What about that milk green color? will it work? maybe with some garnet pieces sparingly mixed in. I will take some pictures and post two HD Behr's paint card to aid in the discussion of color. Thanks again ALL! Correction: My tiles were Alfagres: Gema4x4: different from what caryscott posted: I loved what caryscott linked:...See MoreI need help deciding what color tile to change the backsplash to.
Comments (8)This is going to be a challenge. I agree that the current backsplash clashes with the new granite. I would not do white tiles. Here is what you need to keep in mind. You need a transition color that will play well with the oak and the counter. Side story: I had to do my BS twice. We put in BM Dove White cabinets but picked (I was out voted!) a brown/taupe Giallo granite counter. We put a white BS in and it looked horrible. It was fighting with the counter. I wound up with a Grazia Rixie crackle tile in a cream color. The cream of the tile matches with the cream in the granite and transitions nicely from the white of the cabinets. It is difficult to see, but I am hoping you have a cream tone in the counter. Your counter reads taupe to me so a very light taupe might work. Ignore the white appliance. At some point, I would like to see stainless because the white is too stark with your browns. I agree with lefty about lighting, but I doubt it will help as your current BS appears gold/yellow....See MoreI need help deciding on a backsplash
