Comments (3)Hello! I hang in houseplants sometimes too, alot to learn over there! I think hoyas are pretty easy by comparison! Do you mean vines when you say strings? If so, sure you can cut them off, but you do take the risk of losing a vine that would potentially put out peduncles/buds. I usually just leave them be, I like the way they look, they add to the charactor of the plant...or u could wrap them around so they are no so obvious or in the way. If you don't like the bare look of the vines, keep in mind they usually do get leaves... eventually. As for repotting, hoyas can stay for years and years in small pots, and this is actually recommended for them. As they get more potbound you may have to water more or ocassionally top dress with some fresh soil, but the general rule is, the smaller the pot the better!...See MoreWe all know I am challenged so I need help LOL
Comments (14)One problem is that glass cutters can handle straight cuts, but curves are iffy. If your table top is round or oval, it is tough to cut, but a rectangular piece is easier to do. I also wondering if codes require the table top to be "safety' glass, e.g., glass that is internally stressed to cause it to fragment into many small pieces if struck. This stuff may be very difficult to cut in the usual way. If Walmart can not supply you with a replacement top, then make a replacement top or get a whole new table. If you make a top out of plywood, be sure to use outdoor or better yet, marine rated plywood. The other stuff will de-lainate in a short time. Finish the plywood with an outdoor rated finish. A marine varnish is good, but ti takes a longer time to dry than other finishes. Whichever finish you use, be sure to soak the edges where the end grain shows. The edge will require much more finishing liquid than large flat surface. Continue to brush the finish onto the edges as it soaks in. Stop the application when the rate of wicking slows, and lastly, apply to the large flat surface. Sealing the edge (and end grains) is critical for long life....See MoreI feel like I am annoying you all...but...
Comments (41)KKNY I don't know what to make of you. Of course we don't make the skids 'spy' for us. They brought the subject of smoking up themselves, we usually don't ask about those things (BM's drinking, the smoking - while pregnant of course, and other negative trades). That is because we'd feel bad knowing that the girls would probably feel like defending their mom. So therefore we wait till they volunteer the information and then we might ask what they think about it, or how they feel. The therapist has given us really good advice on how to be supportive of them, and how to adress these kinds of issues without criticizing their mom. However we do ask the girls general questions to show an interest in their other family, which is important for them. Like about their little brother or what they were up to on the weekend? Is that allowed?? Ima already explained it very well. It's about the power of brainwashing,I guess you're not that familiar with it. Like Ima's SD saying it is raining when the sun is clearly shining (that was your post Ima, right?) Also what is the significant difference for you between Stepmom or SO? I'm FDH's SO and stepmom to the skids. They actually started calling me that without my encouragement, they think it's 'cool' and so that's fine with me. You always think that it's the SM's vs the BM's here, and I don't understand why? Surely you're not that shallow to assume all Stepmoms are on the same page and all BM's are on the other? Just because I'm Dutch doesn't mean that I'm on the same page as all other Dutch people, right?...See MoreI didn't want to post this, but I am not at all happy ...
Comments (83)Yay! I'm so happy reading things are getting fixed for you- I hope the finished product is done correctly and doesn't have the same issues. I didn't read every comment, so forgive me if you addressed this already- did anyone ever tell you exactly what caused this? I would want to know the cause to ensure the problem doesn't repeat itself. If it was poor craftsmanship - then I would want someone new fixing them. All I can say is, I have cheap builder grade cabinets that are almost 20 years old. I painted them five years ago (turned out great) and mine today look almost the same as they did five years ago. I have a couple hairline cracks but nothing like you pictured - so little oh me thinks - a kitchen like yours should be holding up way better than my old builder grade cabinets I painted myself. You had every right to be upset too. Again, I'm happy things are getting fixed. Post more pics when they get reinstalled :)...See MoreUser
