You didn't mention it so not sure if you tried checking with Walmart for the manufacturer. If they have the SKU number you may be able to Bing/Google, etc., that numbers. The other thing - glass company's can usually cut one to size on the cheap. You can take them the measurements and maybe even pick out the finish, pattern or edge. Good luck!

I am going to town to Walmart in a bit (if I ever get ready LOL) and was going to ask there.....I had one shatter before and the only place in muskogee that cuts glass said they couldn't do it....so they did one out of plexiglass and it cost 2 times what we paid for the furnitre.....Thanks will let you know what walmart says....Stacy

I did that with a patio table top, and the glass place told me it would be cheaper to buy a whole new patio set. Weird, huh?

I am with you Susan....crazy....I so hope I can get a replacement and not expensive......We have only had it since April...and since it has been soooo rainy we have got to use it once since then....course we would have had dinner out there last night but uhhhhh no where to sit the food LOL Stacy

I have heard reports of the glass tops on patio tables shattering for absolutely no reason. One person around here was planting her planters on the deck or something like that when her table top shattered into a million tiny sharp pieces. So lucky she or anyone else wasn't sitting at the table.

Buy a new one is what I've always heard.
I've got a wrought iron grid type top. But I'd love one of the resin wicker look ones!

Well, if you lived closer, I probably have one that would fit it. My friend and I pick them up at yard sales, junk stores, etc. I have bought several patio tables that were missing the glass...got them for cheap...like iron table and chairs for $10...took it home and had a glass to fit it. I find them by the dumpster at the local thrift shop often. I probably have 10 of them in various sizes and my friend has as many or more. She makes furniture, so uses them. We bought one set for $10, painted it and replaced the glass and her mother painted flowers on the black cushions and sold it for $175.

Stacy-If you can't find a replacement or it is too expensive to have it replaced think about having a piece of 3/4 in plywood cut to fit and tile/mosaic the top.Use broken plates or other pieces of china or even broken pieces of glass.It would last longer and would be beautiful and way cheaper.I know you have time to do that.LOL If you do use glass maybe think about tempered glass.

Are you sure it is regular glass? Some States have
safety regulations that special glass (kind of like
windshield glass) has to be used in furniture, etc.

That may be why the glass cutter said they couldn't
do it for you - thought you wanted regular glass?

Thanks guys went to Walmart and they gave me a book with a number to call....I am sure it was tempered glass....I also was talking to a friend in town and she said the Glass shop in Eufaula can do it.....so after payday I will drive down there and see....I also will call the company and do a cost comparison......I do love the mosaic top idea...and could find tons of plates etc. at garage sales...that would be a fun hot summer day project......I may just end up doing that......Thanks so much will elt you all know (course I can't call the company til I find my cell phone.....duh me LOL) Stacy

Ours shattered a few years ago with no one around it.It either shattered at night or early in the morning,because when dh walked out on the patio,it was in a gazillion pieces. It wasn't even a year old,and we still had our receipts,so i took the receipt back to the store we got it at,sent an email to the company that sold it to the store.
To make a long story short,the store gave us another one.They didn't have the exact one that had broken(a rectangular one) so they gave us a round one and we found we like it better.

When i researched it on the net,i found that it happened quite often,a flaw in the glass.It had also happened to patio doors and shower doors.

Having said all that,go back to where you got it,tell them it broke into a gazillion pieces and see what they can do.They shouldn't break that easy.

One problem is that glass cutters can handle straight cuts, but curves are iffy. If your table top is round or oval, it is tough to cut, but a rectangular piece is easier to do. I also wondering if codes require the table top to be "safety' glass, e.g., glass that is internally stressed to cause it to fragment into many small pieces if struck. This stuff may be very difficult to cut in the usual way.

If Walmart can not supply you with a replacement top, then make a replacement top or get a whole new table. If you make a top out of plywood, be sure to use outdoor or better yet, marine rated plywood. The other stuff will de-lainate in a short time. Finish the plywood with an outdoor rated finish. A marine varnish is good, but ti takes a longer time to dry than other finishes. Whichever finish you use, be sure to soak the edges where the end grain shows. The edge will require much more finishing liquid than large flat surface. Continue to brush the finish onto the edges as it soaks in. Stop the application when the rate of wicking slows, and lastly, apply to the large flat surface. Sealing the edge (and end grains) is critical for long life.
