A small flowerpot outside would not be the best spot. If your intention is to grow these trees on your property then you might consider choosing your spots and planting several seeds at each spot in the fall, then mulching them and then thinning to one tree at each spot next year. If you have other intentions then you can clean the seeds and put them in a plastic bag with some just damp peat moss and keep in a cool place like the garage.

I'd use at least 1-gallon size pots if that's the method you wish to go. Three or more seeds a pot. Throw some snow on them a few times a month and even bury the pots in snow if at all possible.

If you're hoping for fruit, do keep in mind that half of them will probably be male, and therefore fruitless.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. If I use the refrigerator method where do I place the seeded pots when ready in December/January? I'll collect seeds in September and cold stratify for 3 months. Seed into pots and put by a window until spring? That's where I'm stuck.

I plan on potting 200 seeded pots since I know not all will germinate and male trees will not produce fruit. (Will try to graft male trees later with female scions) I'm not concerned about the seedlings being cold hardy because I'm literally taking seeds from a tree in my backyard.
