ΟΚ, ouzo is anise flavored as every tourist who's been to the Greek islands can attest to. But tsipouro? Aka raki aka tsikoudia? Now that is a more complex story. To make a long story short I like my tsipouro NOT anise flavoroured. But what is this you might ask. Well, people accustomed to Italian poisons might call it Grappa. It's one and the same.

Well, lazing on this Sunday afternoon, I had a couple. My significant other having gone for a dip in the sea, I couldn't been bothered snce the weather has turned noticeably cooler, so, yes, I have been sitting in the 'yard' sampling what the holly grapevine can produce..

Lazing....

Featuring in the following pics, amongst others, without necessarily being distinguishable... pics taken without moving from the IKEA garden chair..

Glass of H2O (large)

Glass of fermented grapevine distillate (small, with frozen H2O)

IKEA garden table

Rosa 'Madam Jules Graveraux'

Rosa 'WS 2000'

Rosa 'Pearl d' Or'

Rosa 'Alchemist'

Vitis Vinifera this and that

Brugmansia something

Hybiscus Syriacus, blue and white double cultivars

Hybiscus Chinensis, various

Pinus Halepensis

Pinus Canariensis

Opuntia ficus 'Indica'

Acacia farnesiana

Schinus Molle

Abelia something or other

Philadelphus ditto

Pink prennial of african (?) origin whose name escapes me

Carissa macrocarpa

Magnolia (winter magnolia hybrid whose name escapes me)

Grevillea Robusta

I'm sure I've missed a few

So using a lot of imagination, and some warm climate plant knowledge, you can picture where Nik is spending his Sunday afternoon...
