Two Babies have gone to new home
Comments (5)Hey crazy, thats so funny with the name thing. Just got two shub and two fan tail to start our population and guess what their names are. The two fantails are lucy and ethel( because they r orange like lucy and ethels hair). then we had named the shubs ricky and fred. rickie has a red spot on his head that kinda reminded me of the fedoras and hats that desi used to wear. Fred didnt make it past the first nite so i just replaced him yesterday with our new shub named nemo. Also picked up a couple of feeder gf's that were pretty good size, havnt figured out one of the names but the whitish one with a hat like rickies is now lil ricky. spent too much time with the new plants yesterday to take any pics of the fish but if i take some tonite ill post them here. Have the pond pic's and looking for some plant anchoring advice in my Windy City Planting thread if you care. Mike R...See MoreQuestion about potting up new daylily arrivel's
Comments (15)Boy!!!! Seems like a lot to go through for the 'greatest carefree perennial'? Why don't you just plant them in the ground where they are to grow? You can mulch them if it is really hot and make sure they don't dry out. Pots????? I can't imagine they would do better in pots than in the soil where they can stretch out and find the moisture and nutrients they need. Just my thoughts, but I wonder why everyone makes growing daylilies so difficult. I plant, hybridize, never ever water or fertilize (except what the chickens contribute as they wander through) and have lovely healthy gardens not overly bothered by pests of any nature. Sometimes I think people really want to make life a problem or perhaps some people just don't realize that it is supposed to be simple. Nature cares for its own as long as you don't spray or use synthetic fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides ETC. ETC. ETC. The good bugs will come if there is something to eat....See MoreOur new baby is coming home!!!!!! (Pic)
Comments (19)Our DS had a Husky. Hope you have a chain link fence that's buried a foot into the ground. From our experience Huskies like to roam and will dig to do it! "Dakota" was a very intelligent fellow and adored our DS. He was also adept at catching and killing birds, rabbits, possums, etc. as 'presents'. He was an indoor/outdoor dog. He loved outdoors. I loved him outdoors too; indoors at DS's house was awash in dog hair! It's good you have another dog. Huskies like to be part of a 'pack'....See MoreThere's a new baby in my house!
Comments (15)Donna... I think it was wise to go with the Baby Lock because your Brother accessories should fit it if you need them to and you already have a relationship with the dealer because of your previous machine. I'm always surprised when machines with touch screens don't embroider (Marsha's new Pfaff is that way too, I think), but you have that in your Brother anyway... do you think you will leave your old machine set up to do embroidery and use this one for sewing? I met the ladies from Nancy's at the retreat and they were very sweet... I was scared to ask how much the Janome they had there that connected to an Ipad was, but I did notice the picture on the machine's touch screen was better than the one on my TV! The zero percent is nice too... I used to think it was funny that people got sewing machines financed (until I did it myself!)... My car is 14 years old because I don't want a payment, but I'm making a 97 dollar a month sewing machine payment until next April or something like that... LOL Hey, my machine has a "wheel" and a pedal so it's almost like a car :o) Does that one have the completely automatic presser foot like some of the Vikings do, or is that just for pivoting? It will feel weird to not reach for a lever at first! I think that machine doesn't even have a presser foot lever, just a button... I've only used knee lifters before so I am curious about an automatic presser foot! With a knee lifter, you have to have the machine positioned "just so" on the table to be able to use it and it's too easy to accidentally activate while sewing. I think I'd be tempted to play hooky from church on Sunday! Can you imagine your husband making an excuse for something like that.... Oh we missed Donna today, is she sick? NO, she just got a new sewing machine to play with! LOL It's so fun to share in the excitement of a new machine! I don't know why, but Eleanor Burns switched from Elna to Baby Lock!
