Our new baby is coming home!!!!!! (Pic)

So some of you might know, via Facebook, that we've been pining for a new dog. DH has been wanting a Husky since we got Britain. Audrey (Hi Audrey!!) mentioned that two dogs was extremely difficult for them so we borrowed DH's brother's new dog (8 months) to "test" ourselves out with. It's been a GREAT week, though I know a puppy (I would have preferred full grown dog like when we got Brit') is going to be a LOT of work.

So here he is!

Aww so precious. We have SIX dogs and after three, it was like what's one more. lol. No more though. That's the limit! I have a husky mix. She's husky and shepherd. She's the best dog and so pretty. Good luck with your little bundle. What's his name?

Thank you everybody! It is nice to be in, and even nicer to have some order in the main parts of the house. Still plenty to do and unpack and we are getting bids for building a large shop too. Never ends. Lindy - the color is Filoli Honey from Valspar. Supposed to be a tannish gold from the paint chip, but only a few hours out of the day does it look like it. It changes color with the light a lot. Colleen - the chairs are old ones from my DH's step-grandmothers. My guess is from the 50's. We had them recovered from the plastic fabric it had on there originally.

brutuses, Thank you for the comments. My hubby did all the columns cabinets and the fireplace in the living room! The mantel is Foster mantel unfinished dental molding style 60" from Lowes(a regular in stock item here is so.Calif), the pilaster sides are also from the same company with the routing all ready done. The rest of the detail and the face wood (below mantel) are pieces of finish grade pine unfinished that hubby bought and cut to complete the detail. DH suggested that you take the pics to Lowes and ask them to match up the trims and detail pieces for you. We don't have the names of them. I took some more pics and will post them for you to see more detail. The living room walls are Sherwin Williams Barley. The fireplace was painted in Killz primer from either home depot or Lowes. The finish color of fireplace and all moldings and cabinets (white) and trim is Sherman Williams too. Let me know if you need any other info! Here are the detail pics House pics for web albumn 10-07

rufinorox- They are actually Whirlpool appliances! I would have preferred Kitchen Aid or Frigidaire, but the builder (it's a new build) doesn't offer. Thanks! jsweenc- I figured out that I am fine choosing as things go along. Choosing floors, having those down, choosing what comes next, having that in.... But all at once on small samples kicked my butt!!! But, we're happy! Thanks!

He gets to ride up there, without a seat belt?

Cute puppy, but besides the fact that I don't want a dog, I think I would also prefer an adult dog. :)

No, Moni! He's in a crate, and DH is bringing him from another state, though it's only a couple of hours, he's carsick! :( DH is so sad for him!

What a sweet looking pup he is!
Our Doxie gets carsick also. She can only tolerate a short ride. Poor lil guy.

He's adorable!! Puppies are a ton of work. But they smell so good. :-)

My Wolfy is a husky-shepherd. He's as beautiful and sweet as they come. ("Snuggle" is his favorite word.) He's also been a house-training challenge and (in his younger years) a big-time wanderer. I learned on the Pet Forum that both these traits are common with Huskies. Good thing they're so lovable!

He's absolutely adorable. I can't wait to see more pictures. It makes me want to get another pup. I cannot believe I even had that thought. I'm glad our covenant won't allow for us to have more. It keeps me in check.

Our DS had a Husky. Hope you have a chain link fence that's buried a foot into the ground. From our experience Huskies like to roam and will dig to do it! "Dakota" was a very intelligent fellow and adored our DS. He was also adept at catching and killing birds, rabbits, possums, etc. as 'presents'. He was an indoor/outdoor dog. He loved outdoors. I loved him outdoors too; indoors at DS's house was awash in dog hair! It's good you have another dog. Huskies like to be part of a 'pack'.

ahhhh..he looks like a sweetie! I'm sure he'll be a handful but what puppies aren't?

I adopted a chocolate lab last Friday! His name is Hank and he's between 1-2 yrs old, which is still kind of a puppy for a lab. He's a sweetie.
