Comments (14)I'm honored by your appreciation of my garden. It means a lot to me. Juliet, thank you for your comment about Cottage Rose. After a year of not pruning I pruned it last winter and it seemed to like it. Audrey, my Cottage Rose came from Chamblee's in Texas. I don't know what conditions you have but in my hot, dry garden it's done very well. Not many people grow this old Austin any more but I'm quite fond of it. Comments (34)The common willow with this appearance is 'Kilmarnock'. It is often traded as 'Pendula' but strictly speaking there is no cultivar with that name, the term instead being var. pendula, with there being two cultivated representatives - a now infrequent, female 'Weeping Sally' and a recently much sold, male 'Kilmarnock'. As with all weeping variants it is much preferred to have these placed where the branches can cascade, instead of being clipped (or browsed, in this case) to produce a silly perched or truncated effect....See MoreA foggy, webby morning in the garden
