Oh, right. Unfortunately, I tried to focus my camera to take a picture, but it's so blurry it's worthless :( I shall try again tomorrow - the sun is setting right now. I at least took an overall photo, even though it won't tell much. Poor thing, he looks so sad...

"Crystal-like goo"? It sounds like Adenium sap. Do you see fluid exudation from the leaves? Is it hot and humid where you live?

The leaves are clean. The problem appears only in the rosettes. It had concentrated to such an extend new leaves completely stopped growing, were stuck together and distorted. I've been dealing with it since winter so I don't think it's an environmental thing. I thought it might be a boron deficiency, but I don't believe it's still present since I'm regularly using a good fertilizer. I've left him alone multiple times - thinking it is his own sap, but other adeniums I have never showed the same symptoms. Adenium sap is black, right? Or is it not a rule?

I am battling the same thing. Other people might not know what you are describing, but I know exactly what you are talking about. Terminal leaves are getting stuck together, and a white, crystalline material can be seen when tugging the leaves apart. If left alone, it seems to really do a number on a plant's ability to grow and put out new leaves

I, too, thought it was some kind of insect or pest, but I have moved on from that assumption. I have begun to wonder if it has more to do with environmental conditions. I live in a a place that is very dry with low atmospheric humidity. It's my best guess that the stuff sticking leaves together is some kind of excess cuticle, whose original purpose was to keep the terminal growth from drying up.

I would suggest spraying the terminal ends with warm water every evening. It seems to be helping my plants by keeping the leaves from getting stuck. I've noticed that warm water is much more effective than even room temp water.

One of my seedlings is suffering from something like it right now (and I have seen it many times before). The seedlings refuses to grow, but it does take up water. But at some point, the transport tissue, xylem and/or phloem, literally burst (a theory of mine), exuding a fluid at the apex/rosette. The fluid dries up, darkens, even crystallizes.

I think it has something to do with high humidity and hot temperatures. The plant doesn't seem to transpire as it should increasing the water pressure inside.

I've had something similar on a few of mine. The temperature mine live in isn't excessive - I'm in the U.K., after all !

I've had to cut the tops off a couple of mine because of this. They have all started growing back normally afterwards.

My seedling was without doubt exposed to too much heat under the tubes. After that things got bad.

I'll try to move mine to a little bit shadier location. Maybe he was getting too much sun and heat on the window after all. And I'll try spraying him with warm water, as you suggested Dain. Martin, you are probably right about the heat and humidity. My seedlings are not getting as much heat for they are on the table underneath the window and I use to spray them a bit more that the big plant. This might be the reason why they don't have the same problem.
