Why is my ficus tree losing leaves

We bought a ficus tree in winter. Placed it half a meter from the window. For three months it was feeling alright, growing rapidly. We watered and moistured it once a week.

all of a sudden by the end of spring - it's leaves started turning yellow. We thought the exposure to direct sun was too high and moved it to a different room. But this didn't help. We decided to moisture it on every second day, because the air (especially at summertime) is rather damp. After two weeks we decided to relocate it to a different bigger pot. As a result even more leaves started becoming yellow and falling down. We're frustrated and don't know what to do. We're thinking about using soil nutritions, but don't know which one.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
