Thank you for your reply. Actually, the wheels are in motion already. Our contractor (who installed the door) called the showroom, who called Glasscrafters. They are fabricating a new door for us. Are you saying that it is not safe to use in the meantime? The showroom guy said we should just put a piece of tape over it so that we don't accidentally touch it, but that otherwise we can use the shower.

Just installed a Kohler Levity shower door on a full bath remodel (we converted a full bath to a walk-in 3/4 bath). There is a major design flaw with this door, water leaks out from the bottom and sides of both panels and gets all over the floor. We visited the Kohler website and tried calling Kohler, but they don't have anyone answering phone calls for customer service. We went on Amazon.com and ordered generic silicone water seals to add to all sides of both panels in the hopes we can stop the water leakage. Overall, we are extremely disappointed with the design and performance of the shower door and with Kohler for that matter. The door is pretty and install is not terribly complicated (clear install instructions in the box and great install video on YouTube), the door just has some significant design flaws that Kohler needs to address.

No there is not a full width track as this is a frameless door. They typically just use the small pieces of track as a guide to minimize the amount of metal. Look for a CRL water deflector/wiper seal for shower doors, These get applied with either clear silicone caulk or VHB tape.

My other question is about the 3 photos I just posted. We purchased hydro clear coating. Of the 3 panels the hydro clear sticker was on the outside, and 1 panel the hydro clear was on inside of the glass. The sticker specifically says that it goes on the outside of the glass. I inquired with the glass company, and they said that they had just moved that one sticker when installing to clean the glass. But then we noticed that the etching on the bottom corner of the glass for the 2 panels with the sticker read one way, while the etching on the other (with the sticker on the wrong side) read opposite. For glass doors is the etching typically always on the same side? With both of those things, we are very hesitant to believe that this panel was installed correctly. It’s obviously a major issue if the hydro clear coating is on the outside of the glass, and not inside. It’s been problem after problem with our contractor, and the glass experience hasn’t been great from the start.
