Daily wilting in 5-1-1

I’ve noticed a phenomenon where a lot of my plants in 5-1-1, even those well-established in their containers, wilt in the mid-day sun, even on a rather benign summer day (temps in low 80s), even when freshly watered. True even for full-sun plants. Is the 5-1-1 TOO airy to where the roots can’t take enough water up to beat the demands of high transpiration rates in the midday summer sun?

They always perk up again by around 4pm, but I can’t help but wonder if this is unhealthy for them.

It seems worse on a clear but mild day than a hotter, but more humid day with some convective cloudiness. When it was 95 a couple weeks ago, but hazy and partly cloudy, they didn’t wilt as much as when it was 82 but low humidity and crystal-clear.
