$12 Jar of Kraft Peanut Butter

I was getting some pricing ideas for old Kraft jars that are in bear shapes. I came across an ebay posting selling on US ebay for a 1 kg jar of Kraft Peanut Butter for $12 US. They had a set amount, I believe 1 had already sold. This was Canadian PB being shipped to US. I believe due to it's highly processed nature it's not sold in US stores, but geeze paying that much for it WOW. So I then did a search and found loads of ads. This one has to be my favorite given it's 3 - 500g jars for $50

To give you an idea of price, those 1 kg jars go on sale for $3-4 CAN quite frequently. So with exchange rate what it is, that's about $10 profit on the single. Plus the buyer has to pay shipping, which in this case was $14.95 US. WOW, $27 for a peanut butter loaded in sugar and oil. The buyers must REALLY like Kraft PB.

Oh and if anyone is looking for Kraft Peanut butter let me know. ;) I'm always up for making 200% profit on items. LOL

I see just the regular peanut butter around here ... but I'd be happy to stir in a few chocolate chips, which would make the weight more than 500 g. or I kg.

But ... then the jar would have been opened ... and that would never do!

So much for that good idea.

ole joyfuelled ... with occasional fuelling help from peanut butter (without chocolate)

P.S. Hey! I could stir some choc. chips into my bottle of peanut butter (for in-house consumption) - no one'd crab about that!

FANTASY PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE 3 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 2/3 c. evaporated milk 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces 1 (7 oz.) jar Kraft marshmallow creme 1 c. chopped nuts 1 tsp. vanilla 3 or 4 heaping tbsp. peanut butter Combine sugar, milk and butter; microwave 7-8 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from oven. Stir in chocolate pieces. Add peanut butter, marshmallow cream, vanilla and nuts. Beat well until blended. Pour into greased 9x13x2 inch pan and cool. Cut into small squares.

I can't eat peanut butter because of a peanut sensitivity but I sure do crave it. I miss having peanut butter toast soldiers dipped into my tea. I just found a good substitute in sunflower seed butter - same mouth feel and texture with crunchy bits of sunflower seeds. I tried almond butter but found it too gritty for me. I used to love York or Skippy peanut butter. I don't think they make York peanut butter anymore.

Ah, the lowly peanut. I remember reading a book in grammar school about genius George Washington Carver, who discovered hundreds of uses for peanuts. Then our president Jimmy Carter was a peanut farmer. I went to my local store today and bought one jar of Peter Pan roasted honey creamy peanut butter. For breakfast I dipped apple wedges in PB. Delicious! But the peanut butter did cost $2.99. It had been around two bucks. And I must end with a funny story about my late hoarder Mother, who bought 2 jars of peanut butter because it was on sale 2 jars for $5. Then she went to another store that had the same deal and got 2 more. What does a blind 87 year old woman with no teeth need with 4 jars of peanut butter? In all my life, I never ever saw her eat peaniut butter. Her hoarding went back to the 1960's , when Dad was unemployed and she had to feed a family of six.

OK, I'm back to buying peanut butter again (LOL)! Our Doberman, Knight, has been making too much mischief while I'm out running errands (hauling blankets, rugs, pillows, chew toys, etc. into the laundry room to wait for me there . . . while he nibbles on the said blankets, pillows, etc. ). My DD gave me this idea and I've been giving both dogs one right before I leave now: Stuff Kong chew toys with Jiff peanut butter (not totally full) and freeze. Both dogs love them, and no more mischief . . . thank goodness! I still hold me breath while I make them, though.
