He says-she says on paint color for cream kitchen cabinets..help!
Comments (8)I think it depends on how the layout of your house flows from room to room. If you have wood casings around your doorways so that each room has a start and end point for paint colors - then doing colors that are similar in tone but not exactly in the same color family works fine in my opinion. If you have an open floor plan where one wall is shared between two room then I think a common wall color is required. I think the green in your photo would be beautiful with creamy cabinets. The yellow in the photo you posted looks really yellow to me, and I guess I would picture more a light gold to go with that green ie. BM Pittsfield Buff or SW Believable Buff. I'd go with the green and the nice part is if you both don't like the green with the cabinets or with the color chosen for the foyer/LR, paint is easily fixed. I would focus on picking the perfect color for your cabinets and trim - that is a much bigger job to correct if the color is off!...See MorePaint kitchen island french country cream with glaze- help please
Comments (15)Wow...unbelievable Before and After, Twg7590 ! Beautiful, simply beautiful. Blondie2007, Using Twg's pic you've seen what some white paint (any shade of white) can do with a little prep work, patience and time. It's really not hard. And the end results are 9 times out of 10 so worth it! Actually, the hardest part for me when painting anything is the preparation (prep-removing hardware, door fronts, good cleaning, light sanding, good primer, etc.) of the item so that I get a really good, long-lasting, durable painted item. Personally, if you aren't happy with what you have, paint it! What have you got to lose? *smile* And there are so many people here who really know their stuff when it comes to painting and glazing cabinets so you'll be in great hands should you need some help or encouragement along the way....See MoreCream kitchen help
Comments (5)I agree, try different bulbs first. And the pendants are super traditional, with the wrought iron and all, so painting them is not going to change that. You might want to try changing them out to something more modern looking and see if that helps, I think it might!...See MoreCream kitchen needing new kitchen table
Comments (0)Alright, so this is my cream cabinet kitchen. I need a new kitchen table and I just cannot decide what to get. My current table is a 40 year old oak table that was my grandmother’s! I love it but it’s time to go. Yes my kitchen is 5 years old and yes I hate all the light fixtures. I need light fixture advice too. Everyone is doing the clear glass, and I do not love to see a light bulb. I know a backless set of barstools would look best but we live at my island and we all prefer a back. I am recovering the seats so they are cream. I know my backsplash is dark, but I struggled with tile at the time....I love my Buffett table, but I am not sure if I could handle more dark furniture. For example a dark table with black chairs. I am thinking a trestle table from haus with matching chairs and a cream fabric seat. Also a light carpet underneath......See Moreoasisowner
