Comments (67)Houston..Guess what? I felt the same way about my figs! I had a couple and they are not as sweet as many rave them to be to me, and I let them fully ripen. I was told the older the tree, the sweeter they get. Oh I hope so. Mine are only about 2-3 feet tall. I hope someday to get a VERY sweet one. Keeping my fingers crossed. You can have the cooler weather.lol It's depressing to wake up 5 days out of the week with cloudy skies and temps below normal. I get enough of that in the Spring, Fall, and Winter. Our summers are shrinking while just one state away they are boiling. Strange I'll say! Protect your trees for sure in that. I hope you have a pool. Josh! Well, would you look at that! Holding back for one of the best? Very very nice. Will you be separating them anytime soon or let them grow together like a mini forest? They look pretty good together like that. Are you growing them for fun, or for eventual fruit? I love them. 46 degrees! Well, I thought my weather was cold. You must still use some source of heat for those cold nights, or at least put the windows up. Wow. Well, I can understand why certain plants may be an issue for you there. My weather is much warmer than yours, but still I have a problem with some of the plants you mentioned too. But despite them odds, what you grow still seems to relish in your care. Good work. 68 this a.m. and light drizzly rain. It's breezy and feels like fall. I think our hot summers of past have all but disappeared for good:-( Mike...See MoreLets see your tree!
Comments (46)Next year I am going to put my Christmas decorations up when I take the halloween ones down. That way I won't be so goofy and block the attic access and the entire garage up with plants, lol. Then they can stay up til spring when the plants go back outside, lol. John's son came in tonight and tripped over my planter full of ice plant and nearly broke his neck and he was worried I would be upset since he broke the pot. I told him I had already done the same thing and I was the one who broke it already. I hope he believed me, lol. The pot in the stand was getting brittle and needed replacing anyway. Maybe I will be able to look for one soon. I need a large bowl shaped one and they are hard to find around here for some reason. Well Merry Christmas you all. Love all the trees!...See More2016 December pic time..Please let's see your trees!!
Comments (75)I'm loving those blood orange pictures, it's been so long. Great pics everybody! Here is the Flame grapefruit (second crop) The one on the left I think/hope is only changing color and nothing is wrong with it. This year it was really hot and I guess it got some good growth from that. BTW the tree flowered in early July...See MoreTime for a potted aloe show. Please. Let's see them 2019
Comments (98)Eryn - Aloe plants (and almost all succulents) will indeed change colors due to light levels. Some will turn quite red, others a bronzy brown color. Many find these color changes desirable. It is not necessarily a sign of trouble. I find that nearly every time I repot or replant an Aloe vera plant, it will turn brownish for a while. This is probably due to stress. This Aloe vera plant is quite green in this picture - This is the same plant, looking quite bronze colored, or suntanned. If the plant is otherwise healthy, don't sweat the color change. It may be a good sign that your plant is getting enough good light. ;-)...See MoreAtheen - 7a - in Maryland, USA
