Please, let's see your potted plants after a long winter:-)
Comments (7)Hey! Thanks Jessica. They are planted in the 1.1.1 mix as well as my jades. I love that mix because it outlasts the 5.1.1. mix. Oh, if you pot up your jade into the 1.1.1 mix, believe me when I tell you it will take off on you:-) Thank you for your kind words. Josh! I LOVE your plants. I see how happy they are frolicking in the nice windows you have. Look at what you have done with the CC. I can't believe that it is even flowering again! Bravo. Nice colors. I love that Pichira too. I almost picked one up today. What are the little guys growing next to your CC on the top pic? Cute! I see where you are keeping some of the jades too:-) Nancy! I love those orange flowers too. Did you notice the Hoya flower? That has grown off the Hoya I saved a few months ago! I keep telling them to behave, or I will have to send them the the plant masters for training. They have been good since then. Jodik! Thank you, thank you:-) No worries. I can't wait to see what's up your sleeve..lol I can tell you this. Every time I look at my Clivia flowers, I think of you. I know how much you love flowers like that and they remind me of Ameryllis. God, I can never remember how to spell that name.. Mike...See MoreLet me hear your stories and see your pictures!
Comments (20)Morning, Purple & Marquest. Okay, a third plant to consider.. ") Btw, I've never heard of Zephyranthes. Heck, can't even pronounce it. lol. Okay, just Googled, and by gosh, I think you're right. Purp, yes, the plant has thin, strap-like leaves. Gotta check Zeph's care now, and change the name on my photo pages. Thank you gals... Marquest, your Amy is definately an original..before culivars came about??? You can tell its old by the flower. Different than any around today. Same applies to ancient Christmas Cactus..Ever seen the flowers? Grimes..Many here on GW use PB. My pics are on Flickr, so I can't help, but I'm certain someone will explain how to download so you can post pics....especially since you started this thread. lol. SJ...WOW, now thats some tree AND green house!!! Wish mine was as large as yours. My dinky 8x12 looks like a closet compared to yours. lol. Filled w/mealy..How terrible!!! I'm against chemical insecticides, but if you want to rid those awful pests, perhaps you should use systemic Bayer. Many swear it kills mealy and other insects. Your Ficus is too beautiful to have mealy. When did you notice mealybug? Are you not worried your other plants, 'which are gorgeous,' will catch mealy? I've tossed a good number of plans when I couldn't rid mealy..I didn't use Bayer or any other chemicals... Sprayed and wiped with Rubbing Alcohol, but it didn't work. Love your palms..WOW! Impressive. Toni...See MoreLets see your tree!
Comments (46)Next year I am going to put my Christmas decorations up when I take the halloween ones down. That way I won't be so goofy and block the attic access and the entire garage up with plants, lol. Then they can stay up til spring when the plants go back outside, lol. John's son came in tonight and tripped over my planter full of ice plant and nearly broke his neck and he was worried I would be upset since he broke the pot. I told him I had already done the same thing and I was the one who broke it already. I hope he believed me, lol. The pot in the stand was getting brittle and needed replacing anyway. Maybe I will be able to look for one soon. I need a large bowl shaped one and they are hard to find around here for some reason. Well Merry Christmas you all. Love all the trees!...See MoreJune 2019 fragrant flowers, let's see them please.
Comments (89)I think I found my people in this post/group! I love fragrance. I can’t get enough. I grow tiny little orange trees just for the blossoms. I am obsessed with gardenias but have not been successful in growing them. I have better success with Jasmine. I have too many varieties to list. Quite a few starter plants from Logees. I just found a local Etsy shop with much bigger Jasmine plants and healthy too. Outside, I am a David Austen newbie. Olivia, Princess Alexandria of Kent, Boscobel, Jubilee Celebration, Pilgrim. Not DA: Then Earth Angel and Eden climber). James Galway on order. Lots of drift ground cover roses. I have several Dave Wilson fruit trees (multi bud and two Monrovia espaliers) Apple, Pear, Peaches, cherry, pluots all different varieties on dwarf stock. I grow asiatic and oriental lilies for the fragrance. And loads of blueberries, strawberries and now starting grapes. In a postage stamp size of a yard. Oh, monster honeysuckle ( I need to manage better) and clematis. On the wall and fence. 35 hydrangeas. In the spring it is all hyacinth, fragrant daffodils and snow drops. My neighbors think I am nuts. My real struggle is keeping the plants happy indoors that I have to bring in soon. I don’t have a warm garage. I do have a sunroom with steam radiators, fan and humidifiers and extra UVA lights. Oh, and I cannot get my amaryllis to bloom no matter which technique I try. Massachusetts 6a Coastal.
