Help with glass shower door configuration?
Comments (2)Thanks, I see you are with a glass shop. Maybe you will help me understand the things that are confusing me. You said I could do one door across the whole thing, but all the charts I see say 34" is the max. It is also confusing because they rate max size and weight load of the hinges and every chart I've seen rates a glass to glass connection higher weight max than glass to wall connection. Is that really true? Seems that attaching hinges to a wall would bear more weight than a glass panel. Am I reading incorrectly? I was wondering if anyone here has had probs with the size or configuration of their doors (like regrets of french style or which way the door is hinged that makes it hard to reach the controls....See MoreHELP! Clear Glass Shower Doors w/ hard water stains
Comments (109)I tried every suggestion in this post and nothing worked for me. I live in New Hampshire and it makes sense stains will be different depending on where you live. Finally, I found the solution ...a pumice stone. There are several brands available online. I found this one in my local grocery and hardware store, and it's pretty inexpensive. Just use with water ..it didn't take a lot of muscle....just a little patience but it worked beautifully. I had gone so far as to get a quote for replacement shower doors and stumbled on this product just before I was ready to place the order. So glad I tried it because new doors were more than $800. Just wanted to share in case it helps someone else!...See MoreFrameless Glass Shower Door Swing Dilemma - Please Look and Help
Comments (38)with 3 young boys I really wanted a urinal in my house, space doesn't allow it and my husband thinks it's a terrible idea. When I dream about installing one I think of all the clean up it would save. Though my boys are being trained to clean up after themselves - I think my 89 yr old is pretty good at it but my 5 yr old and training 2 yr old are not nearly as efficient as necessary. I am one woman who thinks it's a great idea! Rachel...See MoreHelp! Large gap between my two sliding glass frameless shower doors
Comments (22)after seeing that hardware, yes, it would explain the gap. what's going on here? this shouldn't be raised like that: those tracks and plastic will get gross and gunky within 6 months. (if this is used daily. ) I have a frameless and those plastic barriers are a pain to keep clean. within a year or so they harden and yellow. You have all the soft marble tile work, and those big bulky door sliders. the two don't work together. yours fits more of more masculine, industrial type of shower. (which you don't have) honestly, I'd have them rework it and give you a less obtrusive top rail. maybe like this one or just do frameless doors....See More- 8 years agolast modified: 8 years ago
