with 3 young boys I really wanted a urinal in my house, space doesn't allow it and my husband thinks it's a terrible idea. When I dream about installing one I think of all the clean up it would save. Though my boys are being trained to clean up after themselves - I think my 89 yr old is pretty good at it but my 5 yr old and training 2 yr old are not nearly as efficient as necessary. Also, people say that bar soap leaves more residue. I don't know if it's true but we switched to liquid bodysoap. We ( I ) don't clean it daily or wipe it down daily- probably weekly but it does clean up easily. I heartily endorse the dawn with magic eraser. None of these are original to me but I found them on these forums and they work.

What is the width and length of the room? 1. I would put one in the ceiling and a hand held along the interior wall. 2. I wouldn't. I would get a moveable teak bench because shower benches are cold and most folks don't really use them. 3. See #1 and yes, I'd make the one in the center a rain shower. We had that exact configuration in our last bathroom and in our new build we're doing the same thing. 4. No and I'd square off the WC door too. 5. The more glass, the more you need to clean. Our last shower was all glass walls and in our new build the only glass will be the shower door. All glass looks great as long as you squeegee it every time you use the shower. Otherwise you'll see water spots, soap scum, etc. A few other thoughts. 6' x 5' is quite a large shower. Do you need one that is so large? Our shower in our condo was 3' x 6' and was plenty large for 2 people. in our new build we are doing a shower that is 4' x 5' and we walked it out and it's still quite large enough for two. How long is your vanity? Do you need such a large linen closet?

I have put laundries in kitchens, but my personal favorite is in the bedroom or near the clothes closet. I am lazy that way. Older architecture often discounted closet storage or the latest indoor plumbing of the day but favored larger rooms from which I would steal space by throwing up a wall and creating a concealed utility area. You really have to get out of the box sometimes. You also have to deal with 4x4 studs and different wall construction, but you can go crazy in the attic running utility supply wherever you wish. Drainage is another matter, and if I could not tie into existing, I have gone right out the exterior wall. Wish I could be of more service, The only out of the box Idea I can muster right now regarding that door / w/d placement is a type of hanging rolling door used on barns up in snow country. Mount the support to the ceiling and let the door slide over in front of the w/d. This is alignment not currently on the plan, and would require a slightly larger shower toward the interior of the room to catch spray and drip off the bottom of the door. Also kinda cool in that custom glass door design kinda way. The door could easily slide into something of a channel, and would work as if it were a shower curtain rather than a perimeter sealed door unit..cr lawerence has many types of glass fittings. Some drilling of the glass might be required.
