For your dog to pee in a 'new' home isn't that unusual. My male dog would be tempted to do the same but once he knows it's not allowed (or we're living in the home) it's no longer an issue. My current dog has never had an accident in the house, but when the carpet layers had to pull up new carpet (long story) they found a pee spot....left by my dog! They said it happens all the time with new carpet! I think the best you can do is buy a black light and look for old stain marks, then treat them with an enzyme cleaner such as Natures Miracle or Odormute. That will give you better results than any carpet cleaner. Accept that you may never be able to rid the house of hidden odors. If the previous dog had a problem marking the house, then there's a good chance the pad and subfloor are holding the odor. Give your dog a short course on house training, which is something any dog going into a new household should have, and watch for and treat any areas she tends to sniff more than usual. Hi Toomuchglass, Often when a male dog urintes indoors at someone else's home or his own he is trying to stake territory. This is not a house breaking issue, it is a territorial behavior issue. Let us assume he does not do this at his own home. Where does he stand in the pecking order with the other male dog? And even your female? If he is the beta, he might be trying to let your female know she is below him in the pecking order. If he is the Alpha male he is trying to let your female know that he is top dog. Keep in mind he does not know if he is here permanetly or just visiting. In his mind the pack is unstable. There is a new memeber and he wants her to know where he stands. In a wolf pack, the alpha wolf will usually be the dog that marks territory. No other wolf would have the gumption to do this unless they are going to challenge him. They know where they need to eliminate and they do this with respect. This dog does not know who is in charge and may feel he needs to be. From his perspective he is thinking... Who is top dog? Who is the boss? Where do I fit in? I don't want to loose. So lifting to mark an area is his way of saying I am part of this space. He may be setting boundaries to prevent a fight. He may not be a fighting guy but wants everyone to know this is his space. Some ideas that might help are having a crate in your home for him to enter as soon as he arrives. After 1/2 hr let him out of the crate but watch him closely as though he were a tiny puppy. Keep him on a leash attached to his owner or even you. Do not let him out of your site and if he lifts a leg. Be ready to train! As soon as he lifts a leg, shake a can with coin in it. Scream loudly. NO! And rush him outside to do his duty. If you can even mop up his pee with a paper towel and leave it outside where he can smell where he needs to go. Be loving, firm and consistent. He needs to be taught in a loving way that he is not the alpha of the space. That someone else is in charge. He needs to earn your trust which means he either needs to be closely leashed to his owner or you and slowly when he can be trusted not to lift his leg he can roam free. Never reprimand a dog for marking if you do not catch him in the act. This will only confuse him. I hope this helps. ~boxerpups

He's just marking the bed as his territory. He doesn't know why you'd have a problem with that. If you wanted it -- YOU would have already peed on it... I have 11 dogs, down from 12. They are rescues and some are going to be rehomed and some are here to stay. When I had #12 she and her sister had pee wars on my bed and I was ready to kill them. 55 pound pit bull mixes make a lot of widdle! Now Katie is in her new home and Hannah no longer has to compete with her so the sprinkling has stopped. They do still pee on the dog beds though especially my domiant tiny Shih tzu/Yorkie girl. Get your little darling neutered when its time and make it plain the bed is YOURS and not his and it will help. I'd also block access to the bed until he is older. By the way doing dominace rolls with a small puppy can scare him. They are falling out of favor as a way to deal with breeds like Rotties and pits and that's not a bad thing. Thanks all for ur comments , I read them all very carefully and giving them all lots of thoughts but I need to tell u all about what went on the last few ours and I hope to know what u think she finally make pee one time but great amount on the artificial grass I have on the hole of my house with plastic underneath so it will not leak the pee and which I sprayed with potty training spray for dogs then i I gave her dinner on time and she eat and drink some , then I took her for a 3 hours walk , I tried concrete , grass , sand grounds .. Each for almost 1 hour , and I even run with her for a while , and she did not make any pee or poop during all of this , finally I covered my car seat with some cloth and took her for a ride with slow speed , all I got is vomiting .. But very small amount not the same yesterday and most of the rode she was setting not laying down like yesterday and she even jumped out of the car when I asked her and I did not carry her down like before . I do not know what all of this mean , is it good or bad , and why she is not passing poop i got a number for a dog trainer but he can not visit us before next Monday ! now what should I do , why is holding the poop even outdoors she is happy and running and playing with us and following us around the house , eating but I think she is not eating enough , she sleeps at night at least 5 hours straight and then she sleeps on and of through the day , maybe 20 to 30 min naps around the day What u all think !?!?!
