K- I know many forums limit their edit time. It makes sense to me because I have seen situations where people substantially change their post after they get responses and then the rest of the comments in the thread make no sense. Could it be that you can't edit your post because the edit window has passed? Edited to add - It's been a while and I can still change my post. So, never mind :)

Well so far, the only thing that works is deleting cookies. I don't know anything about add ons, I'd have to ask DH about that. There are a few scripts blocked in NoScript, but they aren't ones that are specific to this site or anything. I tried to temporarily allow all, and that didn't help. I don't have another browser on this laptop, maybe I'll try Chrome on my tablet. It's not that big a deal, I only need to log in when I want to comment, which I rarely do. I guess I can delete cookies to log out. Thanks for the ideas!

Hi Vivian, I'm sorry that you're having an issue, but I'm not sure that I understand what you mean when you say your email address is showing as your user name. What I see is vivians2932. This is the name that you used to sign in and it's also the name that is showing as your 'display name'. If you wish to change the way that your name displays (the name that others will see on your posts), you can change that by going into your account settings. Click on 'Your Houzz' in the top corner of the page and then choose 'Edit Profile'. Look for 'First Name (publicly displayed) - you can then change it to whatever you'd like. Remember that you will still use vivians2932 to sign in. If you want to use a different account to sign in, let me know. Don't know. I came late to the party about the transfer. I was WonByHerWits on the old GW. I had created a houzz account as DYHGarden, not realizing the two were merging. Since WonByHerWits (the registered name of my late, great greyhound) is no longer here, I'm okay with DYHGarden.
