thanks Lydia, i tried the 'thin again" it was also taken, will try the other. I am now a size 16, would be very happy to get to a 12. (and that is considered by some, to be PLUS size).

I may be a little late to the party on this.....I can never think of a good user name (heck, just look at mine!!). However, there are some good rules to follow.

1. If your screen name will be public, break it up with letters and numbers/symbols but don't be too wacky or you'll forget it. For example, W8tloss4ME.

2. If your screen name will be private, use a combination of names you'll remember, broken up with mixed case letters or numbers. For example, BobSallyFido.

3. Don't use words in your screen name that will end up in your password. Nope....not a good idea.

Take any of those and just put jen in the front of it or you can put the size you want to be at the end of it. In other words you can probably use any of those if you personalize it with some extra letters or numbers.

Hi Kayjones... well, I consider myself smart too. maybe I wlll go for the vixen. lol... Although guilty when younger, I also no longer worry about other people's opinions of me, My Motto now is :"walk a mile in my shoes".

I was just thinking of the effort this will take, and the possibility of really liking what you see in the mirror, when you have become svelte, healthy and happy. FutureVixen might keep you going forward when you don't think you can do it anymore.

thanks everyone, now I am going to be accountable to my dd long distance, as we work on this weight thing together. (Even though I doubt she has anything to lose, she is still in as good a shape as when she was a US Marine). I think she just wants to support my efforts.

Kay... it is a real effort. I have been cutting back on carbs, and I continue to gain. I am at my highest weight ,ever! It is so discouraging. After talking to DD she insists I do not eat enough calories. So I have started keeping a food log. I really am at my wits end. My clothes don't fit me, I tried on four pairs of capris today, just to get dressed to go to walmart. I have five herniated disks in my back, so all the exercise I am allowed to do is water aerobics. I do some yard work, but it is mostly puttering now. I hate this!
I don't like this old fat woman I see in the mirror! I do not know if this online fitness journaling will help, we will see.

I had never had a belly until about 3 years ago. I am active most of the day, and don't over-eat, but it's still there. I do have a sweet tooth, but felt I did enough activities to burn off the calories. THEN, I went to my doctor and asked him about it - he says it's normal and unless I starve myself, it won't budge - it's deep tissue fat, and I should learn to live with it.

I know about clothes not fitting - for me, everything is shifting and moving to my knees - I've lost any 'shape' I worked to keep and now just adjust my clothing to fit - a tuck here, a dart there. I have weighed 120 pounds for many years and a size 4 or 6, or medium in clothes, but they have to be re-worked to fit me right. When there is no more room to rework a garmet, I toss it and go buy another that DOES fit.

I never had a weight problem until i was in my 40s. And I did not have a belly either, until the last few years. I am 5'9, and definitely not a petite.... but I was down to a size 10 in 2003 when we moved back here from Michigan, and have pigged myself up to a 16. Which is tight. I would be so happy to get to a size 12, which as I mentioned before, the clothing industry still considers Plus Size. Go figure!
I see other plus size women, that seem to be comfortable in their skin, but I DO NOT make a good fat woman. Hate what I see in the mirror. Never been considered anywhere near attractive, but I did look better before I packed on all this weight.

jennava, you and I are the same height and we're lucky that we can carry a little extra weight without it showing too much. I'm currently a size 12 (which is as big as I'll let myself get). I'm in the same situation as you; got lazy and stopped working out. I am fortunate though in that I don't have injuries.

Walking 3-5 miles every day with running in there every other day. If I got back to my USMC days, I'd be a size 5. Nope....I'll be happy being an 8, provided I can keep up with running a 5k every day (which is what it takes to maintain it for me).

Thanks Dees_1... so you are a former Marine? DD3 is 5'5" and I was shocked at how much she weighed when she was active duty. All that muscle, hardly any body fat. She is still not fat, but after having two babies fifteen months apart, she also let herself go a little.

Sounds like you have a great workout routine. I do water aerobics three times a week, all the spine docs will let me do.

I imagine you are a lot younger than me, and just a reminder...keep up that exercise and don't get lazy. the older you get, the harder it gets.

jennava, I'm not a lot younger than you but I'm no teeny-bopper either. I was in the USMC a LONG time ago and got out a long time ago. I'm proud to have done my time but my service was in a totally different era. It wasn't like it is today (but it was still difficult). There's no way I could do all the exercises we did in boot camp. I know I could still pass a military PFT (barely) and if I work at it, could probably score well for a geezer.

I wish I had a place to do water work; it's so much easier on the body and is great resistance. Keep at it!!!
