I saw peach too when I had Linen White walls, and in rooms with orange oak floors, it was worse. Didn't care for it in my setting. So you are looking for an off white that leans towards cream or beige?

We tried a boatload of BM not-quite-white paint samples for our FR/garage entryway (low light in FR). We settled on Mascarpone (slightest of yellow tints, I guess that's what makes it not-quite-white, and probably the lightest color we tested). We were looking for a cream color, and Mascarpone definitely reads cream or mascarpone cheese color! LOL

Linen White definitely read yellow, and we had the same issue with some reading green (I'll have to look and see which one we'd thought was a winner, and started painting with it, only to have DH say, " does that wall look gree to you?" Aaaarrrgh), and some too peachy.

Two colors that I recall liking (at least from my sample swatches, were Albescent, and Moonlight (Moonlit?) White, but those might read too white????

we used Simply White in a north facing room. Very pretty, no undertones, not bright

A very light beige or off white with yellow undertone is ok... Just no peach or green:)

Living room does face North.

Cat_mom...Albescent is actually 1 shade darker than Timid White on the paint strips. I could have the store add a little more tint...

DH likes mascarpone and I do too...just didn't think there'd be enough depth. Maybe worth a shot at rolling on 1 wall.

Mix 50/50 Linen White with Decorator White.
It seems to be "a thing" to do .
If you have the sample pots around give it a mix and report back ....

We have BM Linen in semigloss on our moldings, wainscoting and mantel in the library. Two nine foot, northeast facing windows and another outlook of a 7 ft window (hall window streams through French doors into room) facing ESE. There is a definite yellow undertone to the color in all light and at all times of day. The walls are BM Golden Straw and ceilings in that room are 14 ft and the ceiling is painted in flat finish Sherwin Williams' China Doll, so I don't know how that plays into the perceived color.

Adding we also have Albescent on all the walls in our finished basement, very little natural light, seemingly no undertones of any kind.

4boys2... I'd read the same somewhere that this was a designer trick... To go 50/50. Might be worth a try!

Kswl, albescent looks great on the chip...a soft, creamy beige. Something tells me I have a tester of that somewhere in the basement. I think it was one I'd considered for our bedroom. ( and ended up with Navajo White) I should go dig around...

I've rolled Mascarpone on a small section of wall and will have a look later when it's darker. Tomorrow, will try Timid White and Linen White on the wall, rather than just the foam boards.

I'm getting there ...just need to decide if I want to like a colour more in the am or pm. These creamy whites are a challenge!

We also have BM Muslin in our guest bedroom, right off the FR. Friend has it in her home, and with her lighting, and very open foyer with its high ceilings, it reads cream, but in our home it's more of an khaki-neutral beige.

Kswl... If you happen to see this, would you by any chance have a picture of Albescent that you could share? I like Timid White too, but I think a little too light so going 1 shade darker to Albescent could possibly work....

I have had Linen White on my walls for twenty years and love it! In my home, it does not appear to have any noticeable undertones - peach, yellow or green. I love it because it is a beautiful creamy white and very easy to live with. We did go with Simply White for our kitchen cabinets and trim in our retirement home and it is a beautiful white as well. Maybe not as creamy.

BenM's Linen White 912 belongs to the yellow hue family. Here's its color notation: 3.33 Y Hue / 9.13 Value / 1.06 Chroma.

At 3.33 yellow hue angle, it's near the cusp of the yellow-red hue family.

Which explains any perceived peachiness or yellowness - which way it swings, peachy or yellow, depends on the light.

I have used Linen White on trim for many years and it has always worked with every wall color we have paired it with. I've never used it on the walls though. It is a creamy white that provides contrast but isn't too stark, and doesn't look yellow or peach when used on trim. When we used oil based paint it would turn yellow, but since using the acrylic the color remains true.

It's a great color and gives us continuity throughout the house. A winner!

Albescent looks great in your room! I painted in on foam core board last night ( the tester I had from before was 3/4 formula) and it seemed much more gray...go figure. On your walls, it looks like the color I'm after...soft, creamy, with some substance. I think I'll try rolling a small section of wall and see what happens...

We have Linen White on ALL trim in our house in every single room. And we also have our kitchen cabinets painted Linen White. I love it...in my lighting it is a warm, creamy white, with definite yellow undertones.

maybe it's how it's mixed? the formula might have been off to give a peach under tone

What Benjamin Moore color is a shade or two darker than linen white? I currently have Linen White on my walls and trim but I'm thinking of changing it up to have Linen White on the trim and slightly darker on the walls. Any suggestions?
