Anyone have BM White Cloud or White Dove cabinets?
Comments (9)The whites are funny, in that they are always whiter than you think from the chip. If you want a brighter white look, go with the White Dove. Some beautiful bright white kitchens to check out are rmkitchen, redroze (BM Chantilly Lace as paint). If you are looking for a softer look, take a look at these kitchens: SW Creamy (sprice5105 just posted today) or BM Linen White (dlspellman just posted), SW Almond white (Jen4268 kitchen), BM Lancaster Whitewash (mamadadapaige has her cabinets this color). Good luck....See MoreTrim colour close to BM White Dove to coordinate KC cabs but creamier?
Comments (60)I have a large sample of White Dove here, and a small chip of Old Praire (I have the BM deck). They do look good together. It looks like enough contrast . It does not look like you were trying to match the cab colour, but missed (I think Swiss Coffee might have looked like a miss). Hopefully we will hear back from Lori. I am curious if she still recommends a crisper white like Cotton Balls, expecially after seeing the warmth in the counter and floor. I have found this post educational and am always glad to hear what Lori has to say on colours. Carol...See MoreSW alabaster/BM white dove - perfect white for cabinets+shiplap walls?
Comments (60)I just painted my bedroom and master bath SW Alabaster with SW High Reflective White trim and doors. I LOVE the look, both colors work beautifully together. Depending on the time of day (morning sun) it looks white without being too stark white, as the day progresses it warms up turning into a vanilla cream in the evenings. My bedroom is west facing with more windows and a small south window. My master bath is west facing. The High Reflective White stays pretty true to color at all times. Unfortunately they were not able to do the cabinets in HRW as the paint I used on the cabinets could not be mixed in that color. HRW is a color that is funny at Sherwin Williams and kinda' tricky and definitely takes more coats to cover. I used Emerald paint in Alabaster on ceilings, walls, and cabinets in different finishes and Super Paint in Semi Gloss in HRW for trim and doors. I was nervous about using Alabaster on the cabinets in the bathroom but it worked perfectly. I will say, for those that are using a white on walls that is not as warm as Alabaster/White Dove, or more cooler grays (think grays that aren't greige) the Alabaster or White Dove warm soft whites are going to go yellow/cream. I would recommend going with Pure White for cabinets and trim. It is still a soft white without the creaminess of Alabaster. High Reflective White is also a good white it's not as soft as Pure White but still not so white that it looks cheap, but again HRW is hard to cover and cannot be mixed in many sheens and paints. I decided not to go with Pure White with my Alabaster walls because my husband wanted more of a contrast with the doors and trim, I wanted to use Alabaster on everything, but made a compromise with my husband, and went with HRW. I am not at all disappointed with the look. I know I spent countless hours agonizing over the choices and hopefully this will help others that are in the same position....See MoreWarm white for low natural light: BM Timid White, Crisp Linen, Navajo
Comments (11)I tried a sample quart of Crisp Linen recently Because it is full spectrum ( no gray) there is a lightness and vividness to it that I really liked and I think would be good for low light situations (which makes most whites look dingy and gray) However depending on lighting, time of day, and what other colors are around and bouncing off of it - it can vary wildly in how yellow (or white, or in some instances a pleasant very light beigey-brown) it looks. Some people like the changeable-ness of full spectrum. Im not sure I do but like it enough to move ahead and try out on a wall or 2 - I think I need to see a wider area to understand what it will do....See MoreRelated Professionals
