Comments (8)Rain, I am sitting here trying to imagine you in a black pointed hat chanting some kind of rhym that will give your potient more power. Unfortunately I have to fence in the garden now. They have gotten into my peppers and just gutted a couple of them. I am going to try the chicken wire and one of those big plastic owls first. But they are in the process of digging up my front lawn and I am getting really pissed. Especially since I live in one of those housing tracts that has an association. They tell me I have to repair the grass soon or I will get a fine. Yep those cute little floppy eared bunny rabbits. Just doing what nature taught them to do. Well, Iam going to do what my larger brain mass has taught me to do. If the pellet rifle does not get them then I will use something that does. And I am not into live traps. I'll just dispose of the evidence so that any PETA nut jobs don't give me hard time. Money is tight enough as it is, I don't need those so called cute little sweet bunnies terring up my yard - ESPECIALLY MY VEGGIE GARDEN!!! You get my drift? tom Tom...See MoreI like this ....but don't know what it is! Help educate me. :)
Comments (11)Well, you could buy a black hinge at the hardware store, and use one half of it mounted to a wall or trim, to install the sconce piece and use it for a candle or plant. I had something like that in brass, that was used as a wall mounted soap dish over a sink in an apartment I rented in a Victorian house. All there was, was a pedastal sink with no place to put a bar of soap down and all the wall mounted soap dishes I could find in the stores were too modern, ugly and cheap looking. This thing worked great....See MoreDon't have a bread machine, don't want one, But...
Comments (12)I also use recipes interchangeably and haven't found a recipe that doesn't work both in the bread machine and by hand, as I only use the machine for kneading and then shape and bake in the oven. Everything from Grandma's old Farmhouse White to cinnamon rolls to whole wheat and rye loaves, they all work fine both by hand and in the machine. I agree that you need some more liquid/water in that hard to handle dough. I always check the machine and add more liquid if needed, I'd rather have a bit too much than not enough, I can always knead in a bit more flour if necessary. As plllog mentioned, you can add vital wheat gluten to the rye loaves for a bit more "oomph", rye flour is lower in gluten than wheat flour is. Bread is actually very forgiving, and I mess with it at whim. I want big holes I add more water, a dense loaf needs more flour, a tender loaf wants some milk and eggs, and I go by the way the dough "feels" more than anything. The only thing I've been unsuccessful at is a 100% whole wheat loaf with my own home ground flour. The results were consistent, they were all horrible. I finally just stopped, nothing helped that stuff and although I still grind wheat for flour, I use some of my own flour and some King Arthur flour for a passable loaf. Comments (3)you dont mention where you are ... but its brilliant.. that you found local plants to ID .. and put in your garden ... since you have seen them local.. then any good local nursery.. ought to be the place to start .... to find plants for your area .. [and i do NOT count bigbox as a good nursery ... at this point in your learning curve] i see the pine needle mulch.. i suspect you are southern .. or carolina coastal ... but telling us where you are.. is always a plus ... as noted.. there is a shrub forum ... understand.. these are a spring show plant... and within a week or 3 ... depending on weather.. they will just be green for the rest of the year .... most likely.. you should have a couple.. in the various colors ... but.. they should be part of a collection of flowering shrubs that flower over a longer period ... so dont get carried away ... with just this one type of flowering shrub .... imo ... ken ps: also try to figure out ultimate potential ... and plant/site accordingly .. not every shrub stays the size of the babe you buy ... so dont plant them a foot from the house .... https://duckduckgo.com/?q=double+azalea&t=ffcm&iax=images&ia=images...See MoreDavidL.ca
