Comments (6)thanks for writing and suggestions! The green and white subway tiles are just to give some idea of the looks and colors that are being used elsewhere in the house, as well as the brass faucets. I would like to keep somewhat to a theme throughout the home. The wallpaper pictured is the exact wallpaper in the room - and is displayed on the "tv wall" and seating area in the potential floorpan pictured. I love the look of the big, heavy drapes and sort of fell for the way they cascade on the floor.. but, open to any suggestions in ANY part of the design. The fireplace (as is) is red brick with a crown moulding surround, not the barn wood beam shown - apologies for all those suggesting! I have considered painting the brick a white or black? I do intend on using a single sofa, but can't decide on material and color. I recently came across the green leather and got a little smitten, that's why there's two sofas shown. I do not intend on using a sectional in the space but my family does a lot of lounging and insist on being able to prop their feet or lie back - my intent was to get ottomans to bring to the sofa when it is time to lounge, creating that sectional option for comfort. I definitely love the look of a wingback chair and have several in my idea book, but haven't been able to settle on a fabric or style. Work.In.Progress...See MorePlease help. Comments (23)Thanks for all the input and design ideas. I am almost sure on the dining chairs from west elm. https://www.westelm.com/products/finley-high-back-dining-chair-h2914/?pkey=ccontract-grade-furniture%7Ccontract-grade-dining-furniture&isx=0.0.2975 I will be going again in morning to checkout the upholstery colors and try them out to make sure they are comfortable. No kids in the house, only adults, so not worried about food on the carpet. I will rethink this rug placement. I also like the idea of plating some evergreens in front of the fence, so i have a nicer view out those windows. I will update everyone tomorrow once i come back from west elm with the final dining chair decision. This table is 108 inches long. I think 8 chairs should look perfect with it. 10 might be pushing it?...See MoreSomeone please help! Help me with furniture/decor argmnt in my apt.
Comments (30)Can your desk go to the left of the fridge where dining table is now? If it’s just you and your son maybe replace current DR table with a smaller and standard height (29”) and round dining room table? If you replaced your current table with a smaller round one, say 30-32” diameter, it could “float” in the space behind the desk (if desk is against wall, left of fridge). Though somewhat unconventional many kitchens do have a built in desk, (this would mimic that) and with small apartments creativity is essential to use space efficiently. If this worked you’d have more breathing room around sofa and could keep fish tank in LR. If replacing DR chairs as small scale as you can that’s still comfortable for adult you....See Morealexamorrie
