I think it would be fine to change the sand color to Olive Branch. If it's too much, it might be nice to select a lighter, color and consider making the paneling area above the fireplace this color. I agree the scale of the pictures is too small. I think it would be nice to anchor the dining area with a large painting. The bigger the better to fill some wall space. Right now, the furniture seems to be arbitrarily placed throughout the room so I think you should rethink the floor plan. I would place the sofas on either side of the fireplace. I would move the tv to the small wall and hope that it sits below the wall and doesn't stick out. Right now, it's fighting the natural focal point of the fireplace. Now, the concept of Spanish/ Mediterranean. When you continue this space, think heavy, think furniture. Contrast is important in this style so consider black wrought iron details, perhaps a wrought iron chandelier for over the dining table and some sconces for the living area. It might be nice to consider tapestries for the area. When I suggested a lighter color earlier, it might be appropriate to think a tan or an orangish hue that is found throughout this style.

kswl2 - u have been very helpful.. we just realized we should go for a solid or imprinted rug for living room so that the accent could be printed or patterns. Could you please confirm hows does below combination look for dinning? We are thinking of adding two colors in chairs.. Have you shopped any consignment stores? DR's don't seem to be as popular as they once were, and DR furniture seems to be in abundance, especially if its even remotely on the formal side. 'Pottery Barn style', or what is known as transitional, is more pupular these days. Many antique stores are surprising not not only carrying fine antiques, but 'newer' vintage furniture. I purchased a beautiful French style, parquet top table for $135 and it has 2 pull out leaves. Shop around and don't feel you need to be locked into purchasing new.

Hello, I just moved in to a new place and I am decorating it. Currently debating whether a round or long table would work better for the space. I am thinking a round table will be too small (38") or too big (60) I'm going back and forth because I feel like the round table would brake things up.I have too man L shapes like my couch and L shape kitchen. I am also thinking a long table would be too much for the space? I need help please. I want to make it look not crowded. The are measures 127" long by 84" wide. Its the area in from of the mirrored doors. Any ideas please
