good idea about the rug Karen. That should separate out the dinning table area. geo, we tried rotating the table. But because of the light fixture being in the center of the entire room (instead of centering area minus the walk way to the living room), the table will either look off centered comparing to the light or shrink the walk way to the kitchen/living room :( good point about the off balance of the wall connecting to the living room though. That's probably what seems off to me yet I can't put my finger on it. I was going to either put a bookcase there or a painting of some sort. I didn't think of a mirror, which would make the area look bigger. what are everyone's thoughts on having a nice comfy chair in the corner with a small table and then a modern buffet table between the 2 windows? kswl2 - u have been very helpful.. we just realized we should go for a solid or imprinted rug for living room so that the accent could be printed or patterns. Could you please confirm hows does below combination look for dinning? We are thinking of adding two colors in chairs.. We really like this light fixture for our kitchen island which is 10'x4' (width of these pendants is ~4'). We have an open floor plan so the dinning room is next to the kitchen and island and we will have rectangular dinning table. Do you have suggestion for what type of fixture we can use for dining that goes with this?
