Comments (23)I'm just going to say something that's been on my mind. Last year, I asked about a variety which seemed to me to have no special "cachet" whatsoever. I had grown Large Red Cherry tomatoes forever and it was just such a dependable choice. Some questioned the wisdom of spending $$ and space on the plants. Others here pointed out that LRC was a Quisenberry collection heirloom - news to me! Gonefishin' said that he had room for one more plant and he brought home a LRC. Once it started growing and producing, he couldn't say anything but nice things about it. In some of his last posts, he talked about saving seed and about having started cuttings for 2008. I can't fully tell you how his interest in the variety made me feel. I felt he had fully vouched for my own appreciation of this relatively unacclaimed variety with its "generic" name. Bill P. always set out to help and encourage others. He was very successful in his efforts. SteveÂs digits and all the rest of him...See MoreHave I lost my mind (again)? (Another saga.)
Comments (9)No, bee. I'm rather adverse to blogs. Wayyy too much like Facebook in disguise: No one needs to know my every move. OTOH, you all do here! I guess someday I could consolidate my posts, trials, tribulations and triumphs and put one together. javachick, don't be afraid. It'll only slow you down. Just realize that if you break it, you gotta fix it. See, I started behind the 8-ball. Every time I turn around I find I must either pay to have something redone my DH [ahem] did, or figure out how to do it myself. I admit to saving for big redos, like the plumbing, roof, electrical, windows, drywall, etc., but I'm handling the things that don't scare me to death or I can lift myself. Building and hanging my cabinets, my counter top, lower drywall, I'll paint, and figure out how to install the moldings and trim. Then we have the outside that's not finished... Don't be scared -- but don't settle! Angie_DIY, that is way too funny. Sometimes the things I do have me thinking that. "Oh, Christine, can you be more stupid?" or, "owwwwwwwwwwwwww". Yup. Today I'm going to clean up a bit so I can drag in some of the base cabinets and try to fit them in. :) YEAH! All this under an existing counter top.......See More1964 house in rural area hasn't sold in 9 mos; new broker says...
Comments (18)graywings, we did make improvements. Our realtor thought we still had it listed too low. Of course, he didn't manage to sell it! We've signed with a property management company that takes 10% of the monthly rent, plus an extra 15% of the first month to cover their advertising, interviewing clients, etc., etc. DH just doesn't want to get those midnight calls about the plumbing, and this is about the only way he could make himself agree to renting it. brickeye, we won't be trying to sell it while it's rented. I posted earlier, I just don't want to do that to a renter. Until it is rented we've told the previous agent he can show it if someone comes into his office and is in the market for this type of house, but with no signs and no advertising. This is okay with the property management agency. I told the new realtor we just weren't comfortable with a 10-month listing and had decided to rent it. She's the one that recommended this p.m. agency to us in the first place. Next step is to see if it will rent; wish us luck!...See More- 10 years ago
