Donna OH's sister Marilyn.

She and Donna visited me for a weekend, I remember her well.

This is meant as memorial to the KT great friends we have lost.

Lynne, I love your little grey 'ornament'. LOL. Cats and trees just sort of go together huh? But that is one reason I don't put up a big tree now, I can't imagine the mischief Jazz would get in to. Years past, when kids were at home and I had a big tree, my old cats never ever climbed one. Just lay among the presents and occasionally took lower ornaments off. I'm sure 3 of mine would do that now, but Jazz isn't one of them! My fat cat couldn't get off the ground, and never gets into trouble! Eating is her only exercise in fact. I get such a kick out of Christmas photos with cats in trees and laying in the middle of a Village! Funny as long as its not mine I guess. LOL. hugs, Karen

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend, Auntjen. The way she died sounds so sad. The ray of light in all this sadness is how you have celebrated her life by sharing some of her charm, sweetness and good nature with us. We can feel her presence even in her absence, because of you. We can in a small way, all celebrate her life by reflecting on your story of her. Your post honors and thanks her for touching you so deeply through her communications and loving spirit. Shortly after a friend of mine died many years ago, I felt a compelling urge to get back into doing volunteer work. My friend had been an amazing social worker, and I was overcome with a desire to emulate her in some way, to extend some of the goodness she had offered to others. I know I haven't come close to giving what she gave to others, but the impulse to give back, indeed a compulsion to, was born from her death. Maybe sometimes fighting for a cause or embodying the values and concerns of a person who has died can help us to cope with their loss.

My mother passed away April 13th 2022. she raised me and my sister, as a single mother. she worked 2 jobs to ptovide for us, but we took her for granted as children. When the mother of my 2 children passed away in 2016, my mother moved in with us. My mother helped raise my daughter(16 now) and my son(15 now) for almost a decade. My mother was more than just my best friend, she was my only friend. i have complex PTSD, and she was the only one that i trusted enough to talk about the war with… she went with me to the VA, when i had to. she gave me strength, she always seemed to understand things that other people either couldnt or didnt want to understand… my dog died about a month before my mother did… 2022 has taken a lot from me and my 2 children… they saw her as a mother, as much as me… i go from feeling numb to feeling deep sadness and loss… i don‘t want to give up, but i always needed her support. she died from cancer, after being on immunotherapy for 2 years… she suffered from many side effects, for most of her treatment. she became so thin near the end that it was painful to see her like that… i was with her until the end, and it may sound strange but i held her for some time after she died and just sobbed onto her… i talk to her still thst she is dead for months, but i still wake up thinking that she is alive… i beli my mother is in heaven, but selfishly i just want my mom back… i miss my only friend… i miss the only selfless person that i ever met… i feel so empty, and i did not think that id feel so lost… she gave me direction when i didnt know what to do… i hope this posts, it does give comfort to know that i am not a

Greetings, Mary Ann and Jammer. I, too, am sending good thoughts and hopes your way, Mary Ann. Along with some warm hugs. ((((((Mary ann and Jammer)))))) And prayers to the One who loves us with a limitless, everlasting love, that things may go well with you and that complete healing may be forthcoming. During a recent discussion on the causes of a someone's enjoying good health, someone suggested that good genes help a lot. Someone else said that a positive attitude, feeling at home in this precious world that God has given us was very important. And someone else said that taking care of one's body, mind and spirit were very important components, as well. It appears that you've done well on most of those counts, so far. I will always remember "Baby Sage".
Dear DoTTie was very special to me as well. And then her daughter, Sher (stray cat) followed her a few years later.
Even though this hasn't been updated in a while, the poem says so much.

JOMO, I think of her every time I look at the little mouse she sent me. She also made a knit hat for Bobby. I remember her escapades with her Rascal scooter.

What was the name of that sweet lady in her 80s who had moved from Long Beach, CA to a southern state to be closer to her son? This was in 1999, 2000.

Oh MY....how nice to be reminded about the "Empty Chairs" piece. I really can't remember when it was originated (it says 2005...maybe during my move to Oregon). MY many belated thanks to Jodi...it is beautiful, and to Leslie for the beautiful poem. And, look at the friends that could be remembered today. Thoughtfully....Nanny

Seeing Jans recipe last week, is what got me going down memory lane. I make that recipe and one for a cookie from Marlen every holiday season, not because we need them, but because they bring special memories.
We are missing another one, but I am having trouble coming up with the name.

Mae is still alive in Arkansas.....I got an e-mail from her daughter in law a couple of months ago and she is alive and still as spunky as ever but she is now living with them or in a granny house on their property. She is very forgetful, she said and doesn't get to garden or take care of the llamas like she would like to do.
I remember how she used to talk about doing this or doing that before she "tipped over."
Her DDIL told her she was say hello from me at the KT but said she wasn't sure she would remember us.
