unfortunately no Mike it could be enemies or those frienimies that once were friends and are no longer, often times they would do things like that simply because they can and they know it would be upsetting. Those people likely would not honor a request to please not do that. Or people that just get off on being A-holes they seem to be abundant. Also some people have been in groups or clubs etc and are no longer part of them, pictures of groups end up and not everyone in the group pic said it was ok to plaster their image every where. In fact I have been in pictures as a by stander and found my pic, had no idea it was there was never asked to be in a picture or to have it posted. Used to they had to ask permission to use your pictures and get signed release forms. Not to mention just being the polite thing to do. the thing about facebook is the opt out feature not opt in which makes if a bit different ballgame.

I was just sitting here thinking about this ~ imagine sitting on a crowded bus, with your photo album tucked under your arm and suddenly you see somebody at the back of the bus you haven't seen for quite a while. You pass the photo album to them and tell them to shuffle through it to see what your family has been up to. Next thing you know, there's a crowd around your album pulling out pics that they want/like, and then off the bus they go. I know I wouldn't feel comfortable with this situation, and I sort of feel the same about most of the "social" sites, even those that you don't post photos on. Like maybe some of the info you pass on is for family only. Guess I shouldn't get on the computer so late at night. Gets my mind working too hard, LOL.

When you use the internet, you are tracked in more ways than you can imagine. We can tell what sites you go to, what you're interested in, estimate at your gender and age range and all of that demographic and behavioral information is used for targeted advertising. So if you post on a cruise ship forum, that's why you sometimes see a Royal Caribbean cruise advertisement next time you're on Yahoo mail even though they are completely different sites. You can delete cookies and I'm sure there are programs to give you more privacy but when you choose to use the internet, that is what happens. Facebook, as well as millions of other sites, knows exactly what you look at, how long you look at it and what you do before and afterwards. It's intrusive but it's legal and it's definitely the reality so you either have to defend yourself against it, ignore it, or don't use the internet. Facebook makes its money from advertising. And advertisers use it because they can choose locations, age and interests of the users. And Facebook provides that because they track it. You agree to it when you sign up. Sorry but I can't help with your question about how to get rid of it as I've never seen that before. I just wanted to help answer your "why" question. :)

Friend A is in a Public group if you're seeing her activity in the group. And Facebook is allowing her activity in that group to be displayed in your news feed because you're friends with her. Since Friend A and Friend B are not friends with each other on FB, then A's group posts will not appear in B's news feed. In Public groups, anyone who views the group's page can see the content, posts and replies. Only members who have joined the group have posting privileges (creating a new Post, or Replying to an existing post). Non-members cannot post comments. However, non-members can still have limited interaction. Non-members can "Like" or "Share" an initial post. Non-members can also "Like" comments below the initial post. The scenarios where you could be the conduit between A and B and Public group is if you "Share" or "Like" anything that A has posted in that group. In that case, any of your friends (including B) would be able to see your participation because the group is public. So if you don't want anything from that group spread by you, don't click Like or Share. (Someone else that is friends with both A and B could be the conduit, but you can't control that.) You can block items from that group showing up in your feed. Next time a post from that group shows up in your feed, look in the upper right corner of the post. You will see three dots. Click on those dots, one of the options you see should be "Hide all from Group XYZ". To verify the group is Public, go to the group's page. On the upper left, just below the group's name, it will show Open or Closed.
