Need Help With Facebook (Again)

I tried to Google the solution, but didn't get anywhere with it.

I just noticed this last night. When I'm on my News Feed page..over on the left side, I see Groups, Photos, Questions, Apps, Links, Etc.! Out of curiosity. I clicked on Photos and it went to a page that seems to have stored EVERY photo I've ever looked at on Facebook. Not MY photos...but photos friends have posted. There's pages and pages of photos! WTH? I didn't save the photos..they're just there and I don't have a clue WHY?

Is there a way to delete them? There's NO reason for them being there! And,is there a setting to prevent Facebook from adding/saving/storing every photo I view?

Hmm...just noticed that when I click on Photos (on the left), it drops down Video, Recent Albums,Mobile Uploads and My Uploads. If I click on Videos..all my friends videos I've viewed show up. Recent Uploads shows photos my friends have uploaded, same thing with Mobile Uploads. My Uploads takes me to MY Albums!

I didn't realize they were there, but I'm not sure why you want to delete them. What harm are they doing? People post pictures expecting them to be viewed, so I'm sure no one would mind that you looked at them. Also, I'm not at all certain anyone but you would have access to those links.

Patti it would not accept my at first.I tried ever way you could think of.I started getting a headache working with it.I decided to walked away and came back. It never accepted it.When I first signed up and made my password up it went thur.But when I was confirming it after I got my email and I had to click on that to finish signing up is when it would not accept my.I came back to that part and clicked on other things there,I was able to view ever thing. Than the next day I clicked on facebook and ever thing worked fine.I never closed out.I have not tried closing facebook and signing in to see if it will accept it.I am affaid I can not get back in.See if you can click on other things on facebook to see if it will work.Let me know if it worked.I even try writing them and letting them know what was going on but never heard from them.I hope you can understand what I am trying to tell you.Did you ever get a email confirming you were in so you could click on the email part and finish it?Also you can try doing the password in little letters because that is what my sister suggested.I do not remember if the password had to so many letters.Anyway I will ask my sister what to do when it want accept the pasword.Try to email them and tell them you are having trouble.

I haven't seen that Sue. It sounds like maybe they're requesting that you disable Adblock Plus and they're showing you how? That would be one way to handle it I suppose. Disable it on photobucket.com only and if you don't get inundated with offensive ads, leave it that way. There's an Adblock Warning Removal List on this page but when I briefly tried it, it seemed to miss the message pictured above. I love Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus. It makes it so easy to add a custom rule when the main filter subscription (such as Easylist) misses something. I've been using uBlock Origin. I like it a lot. It has an built-in eye dropper tool that helps you do a custom block. The eye dropper tool seems to do an adequate job but I kinda like the Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus better. I think it makes it easier to (using the shortcut keys) narrow and widen my selection until I get it just right. So, although I use uBlock Origin to block ads, I keep Adblock Plus around (disabled) just so I can use the Element Hiding Helper.

Walnut...DuckDuckGo is a search engine and it's now the search engine for AdBlocker. I have both but loaded both as independents many moons ago. It's nice to know that AdBlocker now has DuckDuckGo. It's just the principle of them being there..and I didn't save them. I'm aware that the photos/videos were put there by friends to be "viewed" and friends don't mind me viewing them. It's Facebook saving/storing them without MY knowledge that bugs me!

Those are just standard FB links, not necessarily storage of things you've looked at before.

You don't need to delete them or worry about them...they are just there for your convenience if you want to see them.

When you use the internet, you are tracked in more ways than you can imagine. We can tell what sites you go to, what you're interested in, estimate at your gender and age range and all of that demographic and behavioral information is used for targeted advertising. So if you post on a cruise ship forum, that's why you sometimes see a Royal Caribbean cruise advertisement next time you're on Yahoo mail even though they are completely different sites.

You can delete cookies and I'm sure there are programs to give you more privacy but when you choose to use the internet, that is what happens. Facebook, as well as millions of other sites, knows exactly what you look at, how long you look at it and what you do before and afterwards. It's intrusive but it's legal and it's definitely the reality so you either have to defend yourself against it, ignore it, or don't use the internet.

Facebook makes its money from advertising. And advertisers use it because they can choose locations, age and interests of the users. And Facebook provides that because they track it. You agree to it when you sign up.

Sorry but I can't help with your question about how to get rid of it as I've never seen that before. I just wanted to help answer your "why" question. :)

Thanks OG and Chi! At least now I know why! Frankly, I'm glad someone? something? is tracking and keeping up with me..because honestly, I'm having a hard time doing it myself these days! lol
