Need some opinions please

Hello My names Jon.. I Have 3 Sweet Banana Plants 2 in and DWC setup with air stones in black 2.5 gallon buckets and one plant in soil all growing indoors, Well my plants are drooping by evening and perky by morning and I am trying to figure out if that's normal. I Have Them in and Tent 2ft (D)x 32in (W) x 60in (H) made from PVC & Panda Film and 170w CFL Lighting , and small personal fan that's on 24/7 like my air stones and using General hydroponics Flora series Micro, Gro, Bloom & Calimagic

you're growing them indoors, in a tent, if I read correctly. I'm assuming you're using lighting during the day and switch it off at night?

Possibly the temperature is going up too high with the lights during the day and at night it's cooling off so they perk up by morning.

maybe track the air and water temperature and see if it coincides with the drooping.

My plants sometimes droop when the water temp gets too high.

maybe try venting the tent if the air temp is too high. and cool the water or increase the capacity of the reservoir if the water temp is too high.

That is the back door that is rarely used. Well my objective I guess is that this is the true full sun spot. I do have a few other areas, but mostly in odd places. I REALLY wanted some Clematis in those large blank wall spaces. And I guess I would like more space to garden. I have a front yard full shade bed. A part sun (6hrs) bed by my front door, but need a sunnier spot for most of these plants. I guess I want more options than only shade plants and thought this the ideal spot. I also just thought it would make the neighborhood more plesant and welcoming. I really wouldn't mind making the whole thing a public cutting garden, but I'm hesitant about the labor intensity of this. :/ Either way, at minimum, I would like some Clematis on the 'empty' wall space. I really welcome all opinions here.

Thank you so much to all of you for your comments. They have been very helpful and I really appreciate all of your time. I don't know how many people will still read this thread, but I am posting a couple of additional pictures showing a couple of Cape style houses with a little more punch to them. I am very interested in any thoughts you may have. Option A. This is one we really like. Not really the blue, but the contrast with the stone, the trim, etc. We would have three smaller dormers (those are too big) and I think this would be about the height of the roof of ours. The garage would be in back so we would not have the gable on the left that's why I show it with the gable and then closer in without to give the idea of what it would look like for us. Option B: We like this as well - nice color scheme. We might choose to put stone on the porch instead and we would have equal sides like I showed in my original white house above. I believe this roof is steeper/taller than what ours would be. Just curious if you like these and think they add enough pizazz to the classic Cape style? FWIW, there are not a ton of this style of house here - usually one or two in any given custom neighborhood, so they are not overdone.

persnicketydesign, This is a hard decision! My vote goes to keep it cozy with the partition between great room and sunroom. No matter what you will have the WOW factor with the ceiling at 16'-8" In the other hand the fireplace with the built-ins will look better and more syimmetrycal. I am concern on how that "loose" doors to brk'f and hallway will look on your "big-long" walls if you do not separate the sunroom. If you want it to look more open to please your DH you could remove the door transom, header and arched window and have a tall arch, of course the opening is to be trimmed. To make it even more open you could not install that windows, just make all the the openings with trims in which case I think you need to build a low wall in the bottom of the windows.

Here's an update. I've decided to keep the configuration the same for now because I don't really know what I want, I don't want to spend too much to remodel until I've lived in the house. So I am going to replace the countertops and the floor (vinyl flooring), and paint the cabinets. I think I agree with you all that a nice cream would like nice vs. a white. I've picked out a countertop. It's Formica laminate, but it's very pretty, I think. Also Emagineer -- I really love the refrigerator. I think a counter-depth refrigerator will be perfect and will not overpower the kitchen like a regular refrigerator would. And I'll have my old refrigerator in the garage if I need extra storage space. Also, I see what you guys mean about making the countertop all one level, instead of the bar behind the sink. I'm just not sure the cabinets under the bar will allow for that -- but I'm going to look into it. What do you think of the counter-top?

How do your roots look on the the ones in the buckets? Are they brown and/or slimy? Are the ones in the buckets drinking water on a daily basis?

Bacterial and/or fungal wilts can cause the problem you're experiencing. Plants will droop and wilt during the day and recover at night. I big sign of this is water uptake, or lack of I should say.

I Am sorry I an trying to get hang of using Houzz,, okay yes i am growing them indoors because its only place I have I Brought The Sweet Banana Plants From bonnie plants ... Lighting I have (2) 85watt Cfl and a 4ft shoplight with 40w daylight bulbs ,, light on for 9hr and yes lights are off at night ,, I also lowered ppm to 400 ...Roots look nice and white and nutrient solution have no weird smell
