CornuFe Albertine / CornuFe 90 Review
Comments (62)Reviving this old thread since there really aren't a lot of user reviews on cornufe. I’ve been using for about a month and I love mine. Range is powerful and simmer is great for the most part. Oven cooks well and the range in general is beautiful. One thing I wish I’d checked: the oven comes with one normal rack, one telescopic rack, and one rack that is only designed to fit a cornufe broil pan or cookie sheet. The cookie sheet hollow rack is annoying since a normal rack would be more useful ( you can always put a cookie sheet or broil pan on top of a normal rack). the telescoping rack is great EXCEPT it’s really difficult to move it from one level to another. I’ve been practicing and it still takes me 10 minutes. My Miele oven telescoping rack can be moved quite easily in about 10 seconds. Anyone else have one and learned the trick?...See MoreLa Cornue CornuFe
Comments (16)I don't sell LaCornue or Lancanche nor do I sell any appliance. I just offer my unbiased advice to suggest that you shop and decide if you want looks with decent performance at an incredible premium or much more functional power and good looks in another range...more bang for your buck. I shopped and compared them all and admit that the Lancanche and LaCornue are unmatched as to beauty but there are many other great looking ranges out there with much more power and more functional cook surfaces. Biased views from sales people who stand to profit from their advice here is exactly why merchants are prohibited (or used to be) from soliciting business from this advice forum. Not that it is not a great unit but it is, at least in appearance if not in fact, a biased view....See MoreWhere in the world is the CornuFe 90 with the vertical oven?
Comments (7)Hi Plllog Can I just clarify something I mentioned on another thread. The Aga Legacy and the LaCornufe have lots of similarities. But they are not exactly the same thing. However my searches today found a LaCornufe in the guise of a Falcon Continental. Now they are exactly the same thing with different knobs and a little extra styling on the front of the La Cornufe. The falcon Continental retails for about half the retail price of a Lacornufe. I am flabbergasted. Absolutely shocked. I just couldnt believe my eyes when I saw the Falcon interior and cooktop. (At Dalzells of Markethill near Armagh in Northern Ireland UK.) Still can't believe it. Surely there must be a mistake. I am going to take photos next time just to be sure, of all the little details I see on these rangecookers and then compare them on here. What was most interesting was that the Falcon Continental had all the same problems as the LaCornufe. THe door wouldnt close right. The racks stuck and scraped against the sides of the oven as I pulled them out. And the bottom storage drawer bounced back at me when I tried to close it. Oh dear. Dippy Here is a link that might be useful: Falcon details...See MoreCornuFe vs Ilve Majestic
Comments (11)From what I have been reading in this forum, the dealer network for Ilve is mostly going away in the US (if it hasn't already). It's now been rebranded as Hallman and sold through a different channel; you can often find it in big discount chains. Customer service for both brands sounded somewhat unreliable. On the other hand, LaCanche stands out for their amazing customer service. Both the US and the Canadian representatives regularly pop up in this forum and give excellent help. If looks and features are important to you, and your budget is open to it then I would definitely consider that brand. It might take a little bit to receive the order though. My brother just bought a stove and had it delivered to Germany. That took almost 3 months, and he is still waiting for the matching range hood as that was delivered incorrectly. I can only imagine that shipping from France to the US is going to take longer....See Morehutchinb
