It's been raining all day. :0) Should green things up quick, no fire danger. :0)

I have some buns from the bakery to use up. Making sloppy joes. I purchased vanilla ice cream drumsticks for dessert.

Paw Paw Patch for chicken fried steak with white gravy, baby green limas, squash casserole and Mexican cornbread. AND someone picked up my bill and do not who it was :o) Waitress wouldn't even tell me.

I am making spaghetti with meat sauce and a loaf of garlic bread.

I wish I knew. Maybe a tuna sandwich or scrambled eggs or a ham and cheese grilled sandwich. None of these sound very exciting but I don't really feel like cooking.

Taco Tuesday for Cinco De Mayo

We branded the first lot of calves last night, and finished the day off with an excellent beef stew, biscuits, cinnamon buns, all the pickle and relish sides, and washed it back with some cold beers. Still full and thankful for it because today is election day in Alberta, and I have been a poll scrutineer all day. Just home now to whip up something light. Probably just some soup or an omelette, and then back to the polls for the counts. And when I get done that, home to watch the FLAMES, game three against the Ducks.

Random reheating of leftovers tonight.

Creamy vegetable soup and chili mac.

We're meeting some friends for dinner at a small, locally owned restaurant near here. We've never been inside the place, but it's always crowded when we drive by. It looks a little run down, perhaps even seedy, but our friends say that the food is great! I'm not at all confident of their idea of what's "great", but have no doubt that we'll have a lot of fun.

Satine, each of your options works for me! Good, simple comfort food can't be beat, sometimes. Those nights when I make tuna, salmon, or egg salad for supper, Robert is as happy as can be, lol.

We had corn on the cob and Chicken Fajitas. First corn in Florida and was really good. Will never beat our corn from MI though.

Hellion, that's an interesting comment. I've lived in the south for most of my adult life and have never had sweet corn as good as that from the farm stands in central NY. Robert and I made a visit to my childhood hometown one summer and he agreed with me.....best corn ever.
