Why do you love my hubby (wife) or SO so much?
Comments (25)I'm in my mid-40's and only married 3 years. I met DH when I was 40. I like to tell him that if I had to wait this long for him, he was worth it! 1.We match up very well personality wise (though he is introverted and I am extroverted--like islandgal said we balance each other out). 2. We have similar modest family backgrounds, and we both put ourselves through graduate/professional school, so when we met it was almost like we'd known each other. 3. We have similar interests in music and love to go to live music events together. 4. LOL, he was right when he said white for the paneling in the kitchen without realizing there are literally 100 shades of white. He also insisted on granite slab for the countertops. 5. He's not handy, but he at least knows that. We are happy to call professionals for things beyond our capabilities, which is pretty much anything beyond painting. He never had pets and took on me with three cats after we got married. He was at my side when we had to put one down a couple of weeks ago due to kidney failure. He truly loves me for who I am. He likes a woman with curves. Enough said....See MoreWhy is life so hard?
Comments (16)Aww...Judy, I'm so sorry. As someone who has gone through a divorce and someone whose children have also experienced it - it's rough, I know. I now know why my DM called me everyday to make sure that I was okay! I watched my DD just grow more and more unhappy and skinnier!! (And she was the one who finally filed for divorce.) My DM said I turned from night to day after I divorced and remarried. She said she had no idea that I was as unhappy as what I was until she saw the "old me" come back and my DD was the same way. If your DS has been going through this for six months he may also feel a sense of relief when it is all over for him. Sleepless nights and the thought of your spouse with somebody else are rough on a person, I know. Don't have a lot of advice except just be there for your son and grandkids. Spend a LOT of time this summer with the kids and reassure them that they are loved and that life will go on. It'll be different and it'll be hard for awhile, but they'll be okay. It's hard to see dreams go awry for people you love, isn't it!? ((Judy and family))...See MorePrince George's family portrait (so cute!)
Comments (34)I'm a step-grandmother, and I agree, Kacee: If Diana were alive, no one would call Camilla the grandmother. I guess there are two ways to become a step-grandmother. In my case, my daughter is the stepmother. My children had a step-grandmother (my stepmother) who was never anything less than a wonderful Grandma to them. They loved her dearly. As for Diana, we're all entitled to our opinions. I'm not into saints at all, so I'm glad she wasn't one. I thought she was wonderful. And very classy. Diana married Charles the same month she turned 20 years old. I can't blame her for getting in over her head. It was probably every English girl's dream to marry a prince. I don't know about the rest of you, but I didn't make the best relationship decisions when I was 19 either. ;-)...See MoreDo you have two cars? If so why?
Comments (90)Catching up here. I’m so glad Rocky is better! What a scare you had. Faron, good to see your new car, and also nice to hear others are out trying and buying new ones. Must be in the air. I have had a touch of new car fever myself. Mine usually starts with noticing new models in the road, on-line searches and research, and trying to decide what I want next. I don’t ‘need’ a new car, but am trying to resolve whether I want to get a small SUV or crossover and trade in my sedan. Hard to figure out since DH has a 4WD king cab Tacoma truck and a couple of utility trailers anyway. So we don’t really need it for hauling anything except that I can cram a lot more plants and stuff in the back of an SUV than in a trunk. Plus I think they are cool. My car is so comfy and quiet on the road, and I want to make sure I get similar in whatever I get next....See More- 11 years ago
