Datura stramonium is poisonous to people, and Merck's Veterinary Manual says it's dangerous to "All" animals: It is listed here in the last section ("Dangerous season: All seasons"): http://www.merckmanuals.com/vet/toxicology/plants_poisonous_to_animals/range_plants_of_temperate_north_america.html Datura stramonium is widespread in much of the the U.S., and there are also some native Daturas.

It is in the UK and it's Salix caprea. A common self sown tree which is essentially a large weed in a garden situation.

It's "common ivy" - Hedera helix. It IS difficult to remove because it forms roots at nodes that cling on to rocks and also root into the soil. However you can get rid of it with persistance pulling/scraping it off, or you can use a weedkiller if you don't mind chemicals. Here is a link that might be useful: weediness of hedera helix
