*Finally* found Tide w/bleach HE powder!
Comments (23)@ livebetter No, I'm not a chemist * LOL * In fact, one of my worst teachers in high school was a chemistry teacher. From my limited knowledge, silicates are generally included in detergents as "washer protection agents" or "anti corrosion agents". Perhaps some detergents are more aggressive and require this ingredient while others do not, I don't know. I purchased a laundry soap made specifically for conditioned water that contains as it's 2nd or 3rd ingredient sodium metasilicate, which is a corrosion inhibitor. Softened water is notoriously aggressive against metals. The salts in conditioned water corrode the anodes in hot water heaters pretty readily. Soft water can also do a good job leaching copper out of copper water pipes, sometimes causing "blue water" to come out of peoples' taps. This sometimes happens in newer homes, but the corrosion will eventually form a coating on the inside of copper pipes that acts as an insulator against the corrosion. Did you know that the name PERSIL comes from the two primary ingredients in its original formulation? The PER comes from PERborate and the SIL comes from SILicates....See MoreElectrolux Washers and Dryers
Comments (42)Just exchanged my Samsung steam washer and dryer for the Electrolux Wavetouch. Only had it 2 days now and can't believe the difference from the Samsung. The Samsung was the worst appliance I have every purchased. Especially the dryer. Not one single load, in 2 weeks, came out fluffy and dry. It rolled everything into a ball so nothing inside the ball was dry. Even if I put just a few things in the dryer it would shut off when the clothes were still wet, no matter what setting I used. The controls were hard to use and it took too many steps to start the wash. The Electrolux is GREAT!! Turn the dial to the cycle, push start and it goes. The clothes are clean, put them in the dryer turn the dial, push start and they are dry and fluffy. Just the way it is supposed to work. The lights even come on when you open the doors. Imagine that. With the Samsung you would have to push the power button first for the lights to come on. The stupidest thing I have ever seen. Even my 20 year old Maytag knew that the light should come on everytime you open the door. It wouldn't shut the light off if you left the door open though, the Electrolux does. They also remember your settings for each cycle, so you don't have to make several choices EVERY time you start a load. Sorry for the long post but I just can't believe what a bad product Samsung put out. And to top it off, all the reviews are great. Even Consumer Reports rates the Samsung the highest (the reason I bought it). Electrolux tops everything....See Moreall purpose bleach in powder for kenmore oasis top load?
Comments (6)If adding LCB at the beginning of the wash cycle will distroy the emzyme power of the detergent. Dry powder bleach will not do that so it is OK to use at the beginning of the wash cycle. Since it is powdered bleach, you can use it with your detergent dispener with HE detergent. DO NOT USE in Liquid Bleach Dispenser or it will clog........See MoreHE bleach
Comments (10)According to Clorox,I called them today and asked, the only bleach that disinfects is the regular bleach 6% sodium hypochlorite. She said that the other formulas contain other surfactants that change the disinfecting properties, this would be the HE,Cold Water, and Splashless formulas. The others have less sodium hypochlorite meaning they are weaker so no disinfecting there. Sodium Hypo. content: Regular--6% Cold Water--6% HE--6% Splashless--6% Allergen Formula--2.75% Ultimate Care--2.4% All the "scented" versions--2.75% She said they made the HE formula thicker because people complained about splashing the regular all over trying to fill the dispenser. I put mine in a cup, then pour it in the dispenser....See MoreUser
