My fun today-warning not for the squeamish!
Comments (10)Told my mom about my adventure and she was mortified, afraid I'd get a snake as a pet. No thanks. I admire snakes, don't mind touching them, but have zero desire to own one. My DD touched it, but would not hold it...she's a bit braver than her dad, but not much. Poor Max was very upset about it, but I was afraid of how he'd react to the snake if he got up close. More, I was afraid of what the snake would do to my doggy. Yes, Mona, those ARE good friends. I couldn't imagine having to force feed a snake. One time my DH tried to play a prank on me. He'd found a tiny garter snake and had his nephew put it in a bag. He handed me the bag and told me it was a surprise for me. He told me it was some butterflies. That creeped me out so I C-A-R-E-F-U-L-L-Y opened it as I held it away from me, (I'm scare of butterflies) and when I saw it was the snake I reached in and pulled it out. You could have knocked DH over with a feather, he thought I'd be screaming!...See MoreFor Pet Lovers Only! Something fun to read
Comments (12)Joanie, while I've read that several times before I still laugh at it - so true! As someone who has a dog and is owned by 3 cats I can totally relate. We really did buy a king size bed several years ago when our little dog slept sideways on it and I was crowded in our queen size. Hard to believe a 17 lb. dog can stretch out 36" long! We've now banished them all from our new queen size bed! But I still have company in the powder room. One of our cats will scratch on the door, just like a dog, if the door is closed! *rolleyes*...See MoreChristmas Light Survey: Which do you prefer?
Comments (20)mareda: "...I'm so old (52) that I recall when mini-lights were called Italian lights, and in addition to big bulbs, we had long tubes that would bubble. Yikes!" I'm old enough to remember they were called Italian lights, too! I actually prefer the larger bulbs because it's what I grew up with, but my husband and I have never had them on our tree! I'm also wondering if any of the 'geezers' like me (47) here also remember the different colored metal reflectors used with the big bulbs that were in shapes like stars, etc. My mother loved them and insisted on using them on her tree through her last Christmas still in her home (2005)--definitely gave her tree a very 1950's flavor!...See MoreShare your Christmas decor and your pet(s)
Comments (69)No, but I think we used too much water to start with. My husband, genius that he might be, went dense when he decided that the hose would be quicker than a spray bottle. Winded up soaking the tree even with the mist attachment on. When we went to flock, the tree was soaked but we still misted the flock to activate it. Next day, the tree was still wet. Think it took a week to dry. But, between the ornaments and flock, it's bent out of shape. Here's two pics I just took. It's been flocked since 12/3....See More- 11 years ago
