Gifts from forum friends!
Last week, when the grandkids were here from Jackson, I got a package in the mail. They were excited to open it, especially when I mentioned that it came from Cathy/Mustangs, in Florida. They very helpfully ripped it open for me, LOL.
This is what I found:
Elery's granddaughter, Jamison, has already used the "kid sized mitt/pot holder, she made her first loaves of Frisian bread while she was here on spring break. The salt is for good luck, and the stainless steel towel holders will probably end up in that small bathroom, as hooks for towels or robes, since I don't have anything in there yet. Makayla thinks the "chicken sign" will make perfect advertising bling for her farmstand this summer and we got a very nice note besides.
A day or two later, an envelope came from Chicago, Peppi sent me seeds for Wisconsin 55 tomatoes and some Chinese cabbage. Elery already foresees Kimchi in his future, and the tomatoes are in my "grow facility". It has been mentioned by Elery's son that I'm the only person he knows that actually grows legal things with those lights, LOL.
So, thank you so much, Cathy and Peppi, your gifts have already been put to good use!

Comments (9)I agree - food is the way to go with a 20 something guy. We are big on barbeque. Chili is good too if he likes the hot stuff. I don't know who you can order from in Dallas but The County Line in Austin has great BBQ and I know they ship out. I know when I moved to San Diego California and went to any so called "Mexican" restaurant and tried to order chips and queso they didn't have a clue what queso was. Comments (29)Thanks for the recipe Ann. And thank you for sending Diana the olive oil so she had the perfect bottle for her Vanilla extract. I've never seen Vanilla beans this fresh either. Annie, Thanks to Diana, I now had a good use to put the Vodka to or it would be sitting around here forever. I used one the beans last night to make Oatmeal cookies. We are opposites in several ways, maybe that's why we have fun together.
Good idea Lars. My Lily (8 year old) loves coloring and is very good at it. This is the white pillow I bought her; she did an amazing job coloring it.
